Firstly, if you wanna get into American university you need to write this test called the SAT. The test is for 1600 marks. You can write the SAT any times you want. There is no limitation.
Then you can write the SAT Subject Tests. Only a few ivy league colleges require you to write the Subject Tests. Write these only if you get a really good score in the SAT i.e. above 1400 or 1450.
MIT is a highly selective school. You need to score above 1530 on the SAT and you dhould also write the required subject tests. You need to have good academics and also good extra cariculars.
