Got counselling call from SRM asking for fees. What if I get a better college later. Do they refund fee easily and what is the deduction?

During the counselling they will ask you to pay the required money and after that if you want to join the college then you may pay the required fee (balance fee) before the given deadline this year he gave the date up to 20th may .. After that if you secure a seat in a good college the money paid will be returned exempting the counselling fee......

Dear aspirant
If you pay the college fees after that you get a better colleges then fees will be refunded by writing application to college it will Duduct 10-15% of total fees.

I found article that it should be as per the UGC fee refund policy https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/news/cu-implements-ugc-guidelines-on-fee-refund/articleshow/64955387.cmsThe amount of dedcution depends on "formally Last notifed date of admission". But not sure if last date of admission is formally notified by college? So it could be a grey area and at the mercy of college?
