Actually.... NO....your rank is just more than the cutoff for last year in ECE, but you can surely get EEE if you want.

SIR, MY SON GOT JEE MARKS 52... CATAGIRY ST... AND SECURED INTER 58%.. CAN HE CHANCE IN NIT

Sir, please don't quote me sir, I am also like your son.
Actually to be into NIT your son needs to have atleast 65% in boards as he belongs to SC category. So he won't be abel to get into NIT.
