I just want to know how to tackle the CAT section cutoff in first attempt to get a call from IIM and top other bschool like IIFT,NMAT etc

Giving CAT exam is one part of the game and havibg great academics plus workexperience js another important part of game. Sectional cutoffs are very critical and requires lot of practice on weak areas where you see your scores are low and maximum time istaken to solve. Simple, fortify your areas of strength and learn about areas you are not familiar with, to master such areas to know where you stand (you can also use the help of mock tests)...almost all the b-schools exams in essence are based on time-bound methods, so you should better work on your abilities based on potential b-schools you wish to study in and work towards achieving the same...I hope this helps you

You need to have a decent profile along with high percentile in CAT, IIFT, NMAT, XAT exams in order to get a call for interview and WSAT round becuase every college after MBA exams in order to call students for next round prepare a merit list based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer which has different weightages for different colleges.
