According to AICTE's draft internship policy and guidelines,
engineering students will have to undertake mandatory internship of 600 to 700 hours during their four-year BTech program from the current academic session
.
From the 2021-22 academic year,
engineering students in Karnataka will have to do three internships instead of one during their course of study
. This is in line with the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

ok, and if the student starts volunteer work with NGOs does that count apart from 600-700 hrs of internship
