The campus of 600+ acres - That’s really not an interest to a student. What’ll she/he be doing of such a vast area. You’ll only be having a particular block for your academics.
Eight hostels for boys and Six for girls - You’re gonna need a place to stay so hopefully there’s more than enough space to accommodate you. That’s a plus point.
Security measures for girls - If you’re a girl and decide to reside in a hostel. Then you’ll have to mark your attendance daily in the hostel to the floor warden and be in the hostel within the entry timings. 6:00-6:30 is winter's timing and in summers up to 07:30 probably. So if you don’t enter into hostel till that time. You are gonna have to face the warden for an explanation and maybe a call to your parents. That’s a bit harsh. While girls may not like this but I’m sure their parents would surely do. But if you wanna live freely. There are plenty of PGs near the University. Now decide what’s best for you. But you’ll be super safe inside the hostels than in PG’s that’s for sure. You can go to the library from 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM. But will be accompanied by a guard from your hostel to the library.
More than 200 courses are offered to range from Diploma to PG - You are probably going to find the best course for you among these. That’s for sure. Another plus point.
Mandatory 75% aggregate attendance - You’ll need to maintain a baseline of 75% aggregate attendance in order to be eligible to give exams. That’s harsh and they won’t accept any medical leaves or anything. Literally nothing they are gonna accept from you. If you fall below 75% you are not gonna be eligible for final exams until you possess a good percentage in the last term. In that case, they’ll provide you with some grace. That’s a good point. Also, they have mark criteria for attendance. As your attendance increase or decrease, you’ll have marks ranging from 2-to 5. That’s for you to decide whether it’s a plus point for you or not.
Placement - Yes. Students do get placed from the university and a lot of drives are conducted from various companies. No doubt most of the drives are CSE/IT-based. Companies with decent packages come in. You’ll have to compete with everyone to grab the opportunity but it’ll be worth it.

I am Alumni of LPU and I will give you so many points which will help you to decide to join LPU . This confusion is always there in the mind of every student when he or she has to select the University for Studies. Few factors that I considered before joining LPU were Studies (curriculum), Faculty, Placements, Scholarship, Infrastructure, Internships/Projects, Canteen, Ranking, Examination and Attendance. Let me brief you for all these factors then you can decide to join LPU or not. Curriculum: LPU believes in the updated curriculum as it is taking feedback from the Industry people regularly through Board of Studies so that they can provide industry ready students to the corporates. I heard this before joining LPU but I actually felt this that they are teaching us the updated curriculum only. In every subject there was a unit for Contemporary issues. So it is a very good thing and it helped us a lot. Reading English newspaper on daily basis was mandatory for us. Entrepreneurship projects are also included in the curriculum which is a very important aspect. Faculty: Faculty in LPU is very young and energetic and mostly everyone is pursuing Ph.D or majority of them have their doctorate degree. Learning from young and experienced faculty is a blessing. They do have faculty having experience of Industry which is an added advantage. Placements: In majority of the programmes placements are almost 100% and LPU is having a specific division named DCS (Division of Career Services) which helps the students for their placements. Students who are registered for placements are given various inputs as I got like Group discussions, Mock Interviews, Company specific inputs, Industry related inputs which help students to get job offers in big companies. And mostly MNCs or big IT Giants are coming to select the students with a very good package. Scholarships: LPU is renowned for giving maximum scholarships to the deserving students. Almost 90% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 42 LPA, the average salary package offered is 4 to 6 LPA and the minimum salary package offered is 3 LPA. If I talk about Infrastructure, LPU's campus is one of the largest lush green campuses of India which is spread over 600+ acres. Gym, Hi-Speed 24 Hrs free Wi-Fi service, Swimming pool. Very good central Library of 6 floors and huge collection of text-books and reference books. The campus has its own hospital, hotel, and a mall. The classes are well-designed with all the latest amenities available.

Another thing that I liked about the university was that it has some of the best teachers on board. Not only did they make the classroom sessions interesting, but they were also were very friendly and catered to any doubts I had about a particular topic.

I had a great academic exposure during my time at LPU. Students here get to work on live projects because of which they are able to learn in depth about their subjects. They also get to attend the workshops and guest lectures during their time in the campus which actually help them gain valuable knowledge.

Innovation Studio- The Innovation Studio has well developed equipement so that students can implement their ideas and create new things. The name itself defines Innovation which tells that students interested in developing new things get to execute their ideas into reality.
Museum- Projects by students from different departments are demonstrated inside the museum.
Media Laboratory- The Media Laboratory is well designed with advanced equipment where all the videos are recorded and produced.
Poly-house Technology- The poly-house technology is developed to produce and grow high quality crops under controlled conditions.
Open Air Theatre- The university is provided with 6 open air theatres with an area of 9371.64 sq. meter where all cultural events, competitions, plays etc are conducted. All the amphitheatres inside the campus have quite a good space.
Auditorium- LPU Phagwara has 3 auditoriums namely Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis with a seating capacity of 10000 and an area of 14400 sq. meter, Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium with a seating capacity 2500 and an area of 3211 sq. meter and Baldev Raj Mittal Auditorium with a seating capacity 350 and an area 850 sq. meter. All the auditoriums are well equipped with audio and video facilities.
Aviation Lab- Students are taught about the rules and regulations and safety measures in aviation lab to be adopted if any such situation occurs while flying.
Hostel- Separate accommodation is provided to girls and boys in different hostels. Hostels are allotted to students based on the availability of the seats. All the hostels are provided with basic facilities for comfortable stay of students away from home. All the hostels also have mess facilities of their own which provides quality and hygienic food.
Laundry- There is an in-house laundry provided inside the campus which takes care of all the laundry services of students.
Hospital- The university also has a hospital inside the campus which serves all medical facilities of students, staff and faculty. The hospital is provided with all well trained doctors taking care of any kind of medical treatment given to the students, staff and faculty.
Gym & Yoga- The university has also provided gym and yoga facilities to the students of the college. LPU is definitely worth joining. I am alumni of LPU, batch 2016 so I can focus some light to this question.

LPU being largest private university in India have 30,000+ students from 29 states and 70 countries, offering 200+ courses. It has AA+ infrastructure including:-

The University excel in all the streams, be it academics, sports or cultural events. It provides it’s student a platform to develop personal as well as technical skills so that they can compete with the students of other elite colleges. I can bet you, once you get in LPU your personality will enhance for sure. Apart from academics and sports activities, lots of events like Coke Studio, Youthvibe, One India & One World, and Technical events are organised every year where the students can showcase their talents. So, if you want to enjoy your college life then LPU is right place for you.

Talking about PLACEMENTS which is major concern for most of the students. LPU has good placement in terms of quantity. In recent years, LPU has set a record of placing 600 students (recruited by Cognizant)in a single day which is highest among North Indian Colleges. Generally, LPU relies on mass recruiter companies as Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, TCS etc for their placements. This is the reason for their 80% placement. Those who are pursuing BTech in Mechanical or Civil , are really having hard times because the core companies does not visit the campus and at the end of the day they are placed in some sales companies. Average package is just 3 or 3.5 lakh. Even then its worth joining because if you are really capable, then you can easily get higher package as more than 150 companies every year visits the campus. This year 9 students of CSE /IT received package of 9 Lakh by VMware. This was the highest package offered in BTech i guess, though am not 100% sure as i have not updated myself. In my batch (MBA,2016) highest package was 7 lakh received by 5 students though the average package was 3 lakh. So, if you are a deserving student then you may get higher package. Another reason for joining LPU is the scholarship provided by the college lowers the investment as compared to other deemed universities.

At the end, I would suggest you not to get attracted by the advertised placement records of any college because they are never going to share the true data. So, Know your worth and what you deserve.
