Lovely Professional University is one of the top ranked universities of India and globally as well.

The campus of 600+ acres - That’s really not an interest to a student. What’ll she/he be doing of such a vast area. You’ll only be having a particular block for your academics.
Eight hostels for boys and Six for girls - You’re gonna need a place to stay so hopefully there’s more than enough space to accommodate you. That’s a plus point.
Security measures for girls - If you’re a girl and decide to reside in a hostel. Then you’ll have to mark your attendance daily in the hostel to the floor warden and be in the hostel within the entry timings. 6:00-6:30 is winter's timing and in summers up to 07:30 probably. So if you don’t enter into hostel till that time. You are gonna have to face the warden for an explanation and maybe a call to your parents. That’s a bit harsh. While girls may not like this but I’m sure their parents would surely do. But if you wanna live freely. There are plenty of PGs near the University. Now decide what’s best for you. But you’ll be super safe inside the hostels than in PG’s that’s for sure. You can go to the library from 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM. But will be accompanied by a guard from your hostel to the library.
More than 200 courses are offered to range from Diploma to PG - You are probably going to find the best course for you among these. That’s for sure. Another plus point.
Mandatory 75% aggregate attendance - You’ll need to maintain a baseline of 75% aggregate attendance in order to be eligible to give exams. That’s harsh and they won’t accept any medical leaves or anything. Literally nothing they are gonna accept from you. If you fall below 75% you are not gonna be eligible for final exams until you possess a good percentage in the last term. In that case, they’ll provide you with some grace. That’s a good point. Also, they have mark criteria for attendance. As your attendance increase or decrease, you’ll have marks ranging from 2-to 5. That’s for you to decide whether it’s a plus point for you or not.
Placement - Yes. Students do get placed from the university and a lot of drives are conducted from various companies. No doubt most of the drives are CSE/IT-based. Companies with decent packages come in. You’ll have to compete with everyone to grab the opportunity but it’ll be worth it.
Tons of events - May it be Cultural, Sports, or Academic. There are numerous events held on the University campus itself. If you like to dance/sing/act then you’ll have numerous cultural events, You get a handful of opportunities if you are a sports guy. Let it be football, cricket, basketball anything. You’ll get many-many tournaments in every case. If you’re a computer geek, you like coding and all that technological stuff. You are gonna have a great ride.

Without a doubt, it's a beautiful place for education with a serene environment. The university campus spreads over 600 acres in boundary on the outskirts of Jalandhar and houses over 30,000 students.The campus has all the facilities a student can ask for be it Food Canteens, Gym and Parks.

Courses

LPU offers a lot of courses B.Tech , MBA, Hotel Management and LL.B are some of the popular courses. When students of so many streams interact with each other it helps in expanding the mind not only in the course the student is currently pursuing but also in other courses.

Faculty

Most of the faculty members are from IIT, IIIT,NIT, IIM or from elite Schools (India/Abroad. They have a decade of experience. The faculty is really helpful. Even they help students after regular university hours In every section they have 40–60 Students which helps teachers to focus on focus on each student.

Placements

On average, more than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus recruitment of students from LPU.LPU provides placements to the maximum it has record-breaking placements in MBA approximately 98% of students got placed in top companies in the year 2020. Moreover, CSE students were placed in top companies, with a package of 42 per annum in Microsoft was a highlight in the newspaper and in news. In CSE the placement record is almost 100%. one of my friends did B.Tech from LPU and now she is working in Google in USA.

I had also been earning side by side along with helping a professor with his research work. Unlike other universities, rules and regulations are quite strict here. Can honestly say, the best thing is the student’s accommodation. All the hostels are well built with all facilities and managed security. Campus security is hi-tech along with 5000+ CCTV cameras which are 24*7 monitored by the guards for our safety. There are diverse options from shopping to dining to sweets to coffee shops all facilities are available within the campus. It’s a thing that how University treats you but what’s more important is how you treat the University. There’s no such thing as a BAD UNIVERSITY. That may be the image that we have created in our minds. So whether it is worth joining or not completely depends upon how you utilise the resources provided by the University for the betterment of yourself.

Choosing a University is a big decision, as our career fully depends upon that. There are some key parameters that we should keep in mind before choosing any University, like, faculty, placements, international exposure, curriculum, alumni of that university.

Lovely Professional University is the largest single-campus university in India, with more than 30,000 students, over 4000 faculties and staff, offering more than 200 programmes.

Talking about Lovely Professional University, I was a student of MBA here in LPU. I will summarize you some of the key points of LPU -

1) LPU is having industrial oriented curriculum as per industry demand.

LPU is definitely worth joining. I am alumni of LPU, batch 2016 so I can focus some light to this question.

LPU being largest private university in India have 30,000+ students from 29 states and 70 countries, offering 200+ courses. It has AA+ infrastructure including:-

The University excel in all the streams, be it academics, sports or cultural events. It provides it’s student a platform to develop personal as well as technical skills so that they can compete with the students of other elite colleges. I can bet you, once you get in LPU your personality will enhance for sure. Apart from academics and sports activities, lots of events like Coke Studio, Youthvibe, One India & One World, and Technical events are organised every year where the students can showcase their talents. So, if you want to enjoy your college life then LPU is right place for you.

Talking about PLACEMENTS which is major concern for most of the students. LPU has good placement in terms of quantity. In recent years, LPU has set a record of placing 600 students (recruited by Cognizant)in a single day which is highest among North Indian Colleges. Generally, LPU relies on mass recruiter companies as Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, TCS etc for their placements. This is the reason for their 80% placement. Those who are pursuing BTech in Mechanical or Civil , are really having hard times because the core companies does not visit the campus and at the end of the day they are placed in some sales companies. Average package is just 3 or 3.5 lakh. Even then its worth joining because if you are really capable, then you can easily get higher package as more than 150 companies every year visits the campus. This year 9 students of CSE /IT received package of 9 Lakh by VMware. This was the highest package offered in BTech i guess, though am not 100% sure as i have not updated myself. In my batch (MBA,2016) highest package was 7 lakh received by 5 students though the average package was 3 lakh. So, if you are a deserving student then you may get higher package. Another reason for joining LPU is the scholarship provided by the college lowers the investment as compared to other deemed universities.

At the end, I would suggest you not to get attracted by the advertised placement records of any college because they are never going to share the true data. So, Know your worth and what you deserve.
