Hi there LPU offers B.Tech.(Mechanical Engineering (ME)) programme with duration of 4 years . This programme seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc. specialization.

The eligibility of programme is - Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST . JEEMAINS is not required for admission in this programme. The programme outcomes are  mentioned below -

Engineering Knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Modern Tool Usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modernengineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with anunderstanding of the limitations.

Communication : Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations and give & receive clear instructions.

Project Management and Finance : Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

The most prominent and wide tech fest for mech students GO Kart takes place in LPU for consecutive years and LPU is bagging the top position in the race.

Also, the cars are designed, build and the coordination of the event is done by the mech students only.

Placements: There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for placements of mech. students. It varies from 3 Lacs per annum to 12 Lacs per annum.

Getting into Thapar might be difficult.

But getting equally good institution LPU you still have a chance, by writing LPUNEST, but hurry, the last date is 31st oct.
