According to your rank and category , you can try for some iiit's like pune , bhagalpur , una , surat , kalyani etc which have a lower cutoff , otherwise you can try for your home state nit also , as the cutoff is generally lower , same is the case with north eastern nit's , the cutoff is generally lesser . Some good colleges like bit mesra and pec chandigarh also participate in josaa , so you can get a decent branch like production etc , in them .

Do apply for home state counselling also as you can get some good state government engineering colleges in your state .  Hence do apply for the csab round and state government counselling and you might get a good college .

It's  a big NO. Your rank is not enough to fetch any of seat in NITs or IIITs or GFTIs. One with state of eligibility in Maharashtra has very low chances for admission in any of them, not even in north east state colleges.
