to participate in all india counseling for govt medical College how much rank should I get?
Ranks and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. And ranks depend upon your NEET score, Category and tie breaking situations. So there is no fixed rank or cut off which is definite to be scored to participate in both All India Counselling and State Counselling. Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER are filled by DGHS. For example, for a seat in AIIMS or JIPMER, you will need more than 600. And for a seat under IP Quota of ESIC College, even 450 can get you a seat. So there is no fixed rank per se. Deemed/Central Universities fill their Management Quota seats also through All India Counselling only. Here based on your Category, even 400 can get you a seat. And what needs to be remembered is that All India Counselling is conducted in 2 Rounds and a Mop up round. So the ranks can go higher as well. If you score the cut offs, you can participate in the Counselling. The cut off for General Category is 50 percentile of the top NEET score and 40 percentile is for Reserved Categories. But to secure a seat, you will need atleast 500 and above based on your Category.
