Hello Kavya,
If you did not choose any options during the choice filling after KCET Round 1 allotment results, it means you did not lock any preferences for that round. In such cases, you will not be allotted a seat in Round 1, and your participation will automatically be considered for the next round, provided you complete the choice filling for that round. However, if you miss choice filling in all rounds, you will not get any seat through KCET counselling. My suggestion is to always participate in each round, even if you are waiting for a better option, because you can upgrade later.
Thank you!
Hello Aspirant,
If you fail to exercise a choice (Choice 1, 2, 3 or 4) after Round 1 KCET seat allotment, your allotted seat will be automatically cancelled, and you will not be eligible for Round 2 and so on. You will not be able to come back and will have to wait until the counselling next year.
Hello,
If you don’t choose any option after Round 1 seat allotment in KCET , your allotted seat will be cancelled and you will not be considered for the next rounds.
You will have to participate again in the second round as a fresh candidate.
Hope it helps !
Hello, In KCET counselling, if you don’t enter any choices after the Round 1 seat allotment results, what happens depends on whether you were allotted a seat and what choice option you selected earlier.
Case 1: You got a seat in Round 1
When results are announced, you must select one of the four choices (Choice 1, 2, 3, or 4).
If you don’t choose any option within the given time:
The system will treat it as if you rejected the seat (equivalent to Choice 4).
That seat will be cancelled and given to someone else in the next round.
You will still be eligible for the next round, but you’ll have to go through the choice-filling again.
Case 2: You didn’t get any seat in Round 1
If you don’t fill your choices for Round 2:
You simply won’t be considered for allotment in that round.
You can still participate in later rounds (if allowed) by filling choices then.
But skipping choice-filling means no allotment in that round.
Key Risk
If you skip choice selection after being allotted a seat in Round 1, you lose that seat and there’s no guarantee you’ll get a better one later — sometimes students end up with no seat at all if competition is high in later rounds.
Hey!
There are two scenarios in this case:
- If you are alloted a college during the first round in KCET, and you did not choose any option from the 4 choices, within the stipulated time, then the seat allocated to you will be cancelled automatically.
- If you are not allocated a seat, there's no need for an option to enter. You can participate in round 2 !
