What is the maximum rank required to get Civil Engineering at VIT Vellore Category 1 or Category 2? I tried looking at the cut off scores where max rank in 2015 was 15k and max rank in 2016 was 33k, why does this vary so much? And please provide me the data of recent years.

Hello ,
You can get seat in vit campus even with rank 40,000 .but yes according to your rank you devide in category where category 1 consider best with low fee as compare to other category .
If you get under approximate 13,000 rank you fall in category 1 ,but after 20,000 rank category 2 starts that mean Candidate have to pay some extra fee than category 1 students for seat .
As per previous year cutoff record the approximate cutoff for civil in vit campus is around :-
Chennai campus :- 29,000
Vellore campus. :-. 14,000
There are many factors on which cutoff are dependent and that why cutoff vary every year
- Difficulty level of examination
- Number of applicants
- Number of vacant seat
- Reserved category
- Number of candidates appeared for examination
