Well advanced Excel certificate or for that matter any other certification that you add to your resume, works like an add on point to your entire CV or job application cause it shows that you have a bit of knowledge in that particular field or you have received some practical experience in that area. But getting a job majorly depend on what your major studies has been about and all other certification will show your skills in different domains. So your salary will depend on the job that you will end up with because of your degree and the certificates can play a role in showing the employer that you have added skills but this certification won't completely decide your salary in any case.
