All India rank is your rank in the merit list consisting of all the aspirants whoever gave the exam in India. Category rank is your rank in the merit list consisting of only aspirants who belong to the same category as you belong to. The various categories are General, ST/SC, OBC, etc. For each category a separate merit list is published.
