Whether one can fit in some new environment or not , depends on person. In present scenerio, ragging is a crime. So if you want to survive anywhere you have to have guts whether you may need them or not.

As far as i know about Thapar University, there's no incidents of ragging.Also, affidavit is signed by students nowadays, so there's no chance of ragging.
As far as partiality is concerned, there is always everywhere partiality.Don't worry, you can adjust.
