If you are thinking for placement related then the best branch is CSE, because very good companies come for placement and also you are taught what is going to come for interviews.  But in ECE you won't be learn software by teacher,  you have to learn by your own. In ECE you can go for electronics company by studying your branch content,

So the best branch is in sequence CSE>ECE>EEE>MECH>PROD>META etc..

al. Check out the answers for 'best professors
in NITT, you'll find it's dominated by EEE

you can go for software as well as electronics

Hope you are doing well. Congratulations for your results if you are getting admission in NIT. NIT Trichy is a very good one and the branches which are good there is as usual cs ,IT then EC ,ME, CIVIL and some more in lower phase. Though cs , IT and EC has a good scope for now has a good competition also. Also it has high cutoff for admission in this branch.
