Hello!
Iits are the autonomous public higher education institutes which are governed by institue of technology act 1961 , which are declared as institutions of national importance. There are total 23 Iits in India. Each IIT is linked to the others through a common council called IIT Council, which oversees their administration. Ypu can only get admissions if ypu clear jee advance exam.
