As per my knowledge both the institutes are doing well,but before finalizing any institutes I would suggest you to compare the Institutes on following parameters like academics, placements, exposure, ranking etc.But if you are looking for best Institutes then I can say Lovely Professional University is best.

I have seen and studied about both so i can give you a brief difference between them.

1. Infrastructure - In infrastructure, Chandigarh University wins. No doubt it has a quite wonderful infrastructure as their are students from different countries. CGC Landren infrastructure is not that good comparable to CU.
2. College Life- It's the most important thing for everyone because that what everyone wants a perfect college life. CU has a edge over CGC in this again as a lot of events take place in CU. There are a lot of places for roaming and eating in CU also.
3. Placement- That's what literally su***, at the time of placement students of cgc and CU sit together. So, the company won't give you an advantage if you are a student at CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY.
4. Fees- If you take hostel then Fees for CU is 10Lakhs while of CGC is 6.4 Lakhs but CU offers a lot of scholarship programs. E.g. if you have 90%+ in Boards then your semester fee will be reduced to 50%.
5. Facilities - It's common better facilities cost more, so, CU offers good facilities to it's students.

CGC Landran is an old college and has more reputation than Chandigarh University just because more people know about it.

Whereas Chandigarh University is a relatively new institution having the same owner .

BUT there are a few really great differences between CGC landran and Chandigarh University -

1. CGC Landran is a college which is under another university. This means your DMCs , degree and all formalities will take time . Whereas Chandigarh University is a deemed university and you can get all these documents in no time really fast.
2. Chandigarh University is a university so they have the liberty to change their syllabus and rotate their subjects according to the demands of the industry which CGC landran cannot do .
3. Placements in CGC Landran and Chandigarh University are all the same because they all happen together anyways.
4. Campus - Chandigarh University has a growing campus with 1 or 2 buildings being made every 6 months , whereas CGC Landran is al already built campus. Even though CU is also really developed now and have more than 15 food joints and cafeterias so it’s great too. You can see both campuses yourselves to decide that.
5. Staff - Teachers in CU are much better because they are being payed more than the teachers at CGC landran. As a university pays more to the teachers than a college . And it is obvious , the more you pay means the more you get.
6. Location - CGC Landran is in a small city named Landran near Chandigarh and buses to Rajpura, Patiala , Sirhind , Kharar are not so easily available as the time interval between them is longer. Whereas CU is exactly on the Chandigarh - Ludhiana national highway and every 10 minutes there is one bus for Chandigarh or Ludhiana . For Patiala students you will reach  faster to patiala from CU than CGC even when CGC is more near in distance.

For CSE you can opt for Chandigarh University as it is a A+ grade college and it is ranked 51 by NIRF while CGC have not been ranked by NIRF.You should also opt for Chandigarh University because the average package is higher here as compared to CGC Landren.
