Hello, Hope you are doing well, here is the answer to your question if you are of general category then 60% of marks in the board is required to get admission in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. If you are of SC/ST then 55% of marks in the board is required.

Also from this year, the admission criteria are slightly changed students now can take admission on the basis of merit of marks secured in 12 board examination or equivalent examination in the aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject.

He/She has must passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks (70% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.

If you want to take admission at Thapar Institute of Technology and Engineering then the minimum % required for the student who had just passed 10+2 or equivalent examination needs to get at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject OR Minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in a Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.
