Candidates need to be graduate in any stream for appearing UPSC Civil Services examination 2017. Those candidates who will be shortlisted by the Commission for taking the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be required to produce academic proof of passing the requisite examination (Graduation Degree Certificate) with their application for the Mains Examination. Those who fail to produce such academic qualification document according to UPSC IAS eligibility criteria 2017 will not be considered eligble for appearing in UPSC Mains Examination.
