i am joinin nit calicut its packages are low b/w 6lpa for mech.i plan to join for ms after my btech in any of the top 100 universities in the world as it is easy when compared.as huge expenses are expected,will it worth it spending. what salary hike can i expect mech related courses are my passion

First of all, whatever the package you see in anywhere is not justified as per for package. If you see 39 lakh package, it doesn't mean he may be getting 39/12 =3.25 lakh per month in his bank account.  It is very low as low as 1.25 lakh per month in account and rest as joining bonus and stock option only for a year.  Now, for 6 lakh you will be getting 35k to 42k in bank account as different for different company. According to me here are the in hand salary detail of major sectors

Core engineering- 35k to 50k

IT product- 80k to 1.25l

IT service- 24k to 50k

Consulting- 40k to 60k

Financial analysts - 40k to 70k.

There is range because different companies offer different money but over all their in hand salary will lie in this range only, irrespective of package.

So, don't worry for 6Lakh what you see for NIT , it is good for starting careers. It will increase multiple time with experience.

Doing MS from abroad is not justified,  it is ok only when you have very high financial background. Else you may choose india.
