I have done PGDFM as well as MBA in Finance from IGNOU. I have got PGDFM 55% and MBA 54%. Can I show only PGDFM as an direct entry route?

Dear Utpal,
Can you please specify you wish to use PGDFM as a direct entry route to where? Generally speaking, yes you can very much use PGDFM degree similarly as you would use MBA since both are same duration degrees.
If you could give more context, I would be able to answer specifically.
All the best!

Hi Amita,Thanks for your response. This is asking for CA course. In eligiblity section, they have mentioned post graduate with 55%. I have separate certificate for PGDFM but marks sheet is combile. In marks sheet, both are mentioned. In that, whether I can consider previous one, not latest MBA. In MBA some additional courses were there. Whether, ICAI will accep that...........Let know if you need any more clarification.Regards,Utpal
Sorry missed to mention - direct entry in CA IntermediateRegards,
Utpal, whether or not postgraduate diploma programmes in financial management would be considered equivalent to an MBA depends upon the institution from which they are done. As far as IGNOU is concerned, since its PGDFM programme is of 1 year only, not of two years which is stipulated number of years for masters, I doubt that it can be considered as a masters degree. Now, you must have gotten admission in MBA via lateral entry route of IGNOU. Any institution accepting one-year diploma should consider your PGDFM for admission, but since ICAI demands undergraduation or postgraduation with 55% minimum marks, it is unlikely that ICAI will accept PGDFM. It would consider MBA only. I suggest you apply for direct entry route to IPC with ICAI, and take your chance.
Amita, Once again thanks a lot for the quick clarification. I will try through IPC. By the way, the PGDFM was for 2 years not 1 year. By any chance they will consider it! Anyway thanks for your valuable response. Tnx, Utpal
Hi Utpal, Pleasure. If your PGDFM was for two years, then there is a high possibility that ICAI would accept it as your masters. It is so since, most B-Schools including IIMs, offer Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD) also of two years, instead of MBA, and PGDs are very much considered at par with postgraduation in the academic arena. Hope it helps. All the best!
Hi Amita, Really appreciate you for the quick response. Let me see how this work! At least now I have got some confidence after discussion with you. Thanks a lot. Be blessed and happy. Regards, Utpal

Hi Amita I went through conversations but still couldn't find what I was looking out for. So wanted to ask you that I have qualified PGDFM from NMIMS, so should I mention only PGDFM or I can mention PG/MBA (Finance)? Can u pls clear me this doubt as I am really confused as no clear answer is available? Thanks in advance! Pgdfm is 2 yrs course.
