This marking scheme applies to all questions, whether compulsory or optional. For instance, in the B.Tech/B.Pharm exam, Section A consists of 20 compulsory questions, and Section B includes 40 questions from which you need to attempt 30. All attempted questions are subject to the same marking rules.
