Well when you are getting enrolled in preparatory course, it will all depend on your hard work. After getting admission in preparatory course, if you pass your examination of first year, then you can retain your seat otherwise your seat will be cancelled. So if you are a hard worker and have willingness to do something then you should join the preparatory course in IIT because if you crack the examination after one year you will be officially become a student of IIT
