Please tell me which is better FMS Delhi or IIM ABC and also their package

Hello dear,
IIM abc is far better than fms delhi becoz of its good infrastructure and good placement opportunity...And teaching faculty is also good..The higher package of iim abc is 25 lakh per annum..And in fms delhi higher package is 22 lakh per annum.

FMS is one of the best colleges in the country but still I would give four reasons why chose A-B-C over FMS:

Lesser on campus life when compared to top IIMs

Lesser on academic rigor when compared to top IIMs

Arguably better peer group at B-C than at FMS - Nothing personal here for anyone. There is a simple logic behind this: Most people prefer A first, then B/C. This is true. Equally true is the fact that most people prefer B/C first and then FMS/XLRI. Hence, order of preference wise, the top of the top cream goes maximum to A-B-C. Having said that, better means you will get percentage wise more acad freaks at A-B-C as compared to FMS - that is more or less about it. No clear parameters though. Choice wise is the point!

A little better placement options at B/C. Reason: Some top of the top recruiting desks across the world visit B/C more than they visit FMS. Minor (10%) top of the ranks difference though.

Not going to make comparisons or state the known, but will clear some misconceptions people have about the life at FMS Delhi:

Faculty! I don't understand how this perception exists that the faculty isn't that good. Being in DU, the professors at FMS are some of the best since the best academic minds compete for those posts. Each department has multiple “Professors”, in addition to Asst. and Associate Profs. The title comes with highest qualifications, immense research work, contribution to multiple governments’ panels. Further, for specific reasons best known to themselves, attrition rate in faculty is nearly 0 - with some professors having served all of their professional life since their education till retirement as an FMS faculty. Most top B schools of today didn't even exist when they started teaching at FMS. Some well renowned ones are Prof. Vivek Suneja, Prof. J.K. Mitra, Prof. Simrit Kaur, Prof. Pankaj Sinha, Prof. Harsh Verma, among others.

Academics. Academics at FMS is not chill. All colleges have a distribution of students who focus on academics or other things in life or some mix. In that light, a lot of effort is needed to score well, build a good profile over the two years through projects, competitions, etc. The college provides ample opportunities for all these things.

There are hostels! There are DU hostels with college-wise seat allocations, and while some have 1–2 seats allocated for FMS students, VKRV Rao Hostel has 30–32 seats (per batch) for FMS students (on admission merit). The remaining residents in these hostels are from various top notch PG/PhD programs in North Campus colleges which further provides a good fellowship through interactions and hostel-based activities. Even if you don't join a hostel, you can easily find flats and PGs nearby, and believe me, independent living and managing your life is a really critical experience that you would already be a champion at when graduating from FMS, even as a fresher.

Event venues. FMS might not have a huge auditorium within its building, but it has access to swanky auditoriums of DU for various corporate events - DU Conference Centre, Patel Chest Institute Auditorium, etc. Also, for more high profile events, FMS uses the elite halls of Vigyan Bhavan, Manekshaw Centre, India Habitat Centre, among similar other venues in Delhi.

Sports facilities. North Campus boasts of Sports Complex of international standards, some also used for the Commonwealth Games - gyms, tennis courts, swimming pools etc. Only DU students and faculty can access these facilities. Even the inter section sports events have been held in CWG grounds, basically.

Cultural events. FMS students get to attend fests of all colleges of DU, and some of these colleges have really amazing fests.
