what will be the good score and rank in clat pg 2026 in order to get admission in top NLUs like NALSAR, NUJS and etc
Hello,
For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category
Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.
Hope it helps !
Hi Indranil,
For CLAT PG, a good score depends on the paper’s difficulty and the number of candidates. Based on past trends, to get into top NLUs like NALSAR, NUJS, or NLSIU, you usually need to be within the top 100–150 ranks. In percentage terms, this often means scoring around 75+ marks out of 120 in an average difficulty paper. But if the paper is tougher, the cut-off score might be lower while the rank requirement stays similar. Remember, reservation categories also affect the exact cut-off. Focus on revising core law subjects (Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, IPC, CPC, CrPC, Contracts) and solving at least the last 5 years’ papers. Strong reading comprehension and time management can make a big difference.
Thanks for asking, and all the best for CLAT PG!
Hey Indra:)
Thanks for reaching out!
If you're aiming for CLAT PG admission into Top NLUs like NALSAR Hyderabad,WBNUJS Kolkata or NLSIU Banglore,a safe target would be scoring
95-100+ out of 120 .In previous years, this range has placed candidates within roughly the top 100-250 ranks for the general category,Which is where these top universities usually close.NLSIU, Bangalore requires the highest ranks,so aiming higher than the minimum is always safer.
Since cutoffs may vary depending on the difficulty of the paper,no.of applicants, seats availability, and competition, aiming higher will give you a better chance of securing a seat at this top institutions.
