If you are a graduate from B.Sc. Computer Science, the MCA course in NIT Calicut is 3 years (6 semesters) in duration. There is no lateral entry, hence you need to complete the whole 3 years if you are eligible to pursue the course.

After completing a B.sc.in computer science,MCA at NIT CALICUT is a full time three year postgraduate course with 52 seats.
The normal duration of the MCA programme including project work shall be three years (six semester)
Admission are based solely on NIMCET.
Eligibility criteria for MCA a bachelor's degree (BCA/B.Sc./ B.Tech) with a minimum 60% aggregate Math or statistics studied at the undergraduate level is Mandatory.
NIT Calicut offers one MCA program under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
Program : Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
Duration : 3 years (6 semesters), full-time
Seats : Around 52–60
Entry : Through NIMCET; JoSAA counseling required
B.Sc. Computer Science graduates with Mathematics in 10+2 or graduation are eligible. NIT Calicut does not offer a 2-year MCA—only the 3-year course is available.
