Like most of the engineering colleges, there are two criteria for getting admission in Thapar Institute, Patiala. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage (PCM OR PCB). The division of seats for the above two is 70% and 30% respectively. Hey!!

There are two criteria for getting admission in TIET. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage. 70% of the total seats for Btech course will be filled on the basis of JEE main score. You must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate of three subjects, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject. And the rest 30% seats will be filled on the basis of 10+2 marks in PCM merit or equivalent examination in the aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.

The procedures or eligibility of Admission in B.Tech in Thapar University are :

For B.E./B.Tech., B.E-MBA Integrated program, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate in Class 12 ^th .
Admission to B.Tech is done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the JEE Main.
For admission you have to secured at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ST candidates) in JEE (Main)-2020.

For Lateral Entry, the candidate must have passed Diploma and must have cleared class 12th with minimum 60% marks.
