my college is good look in infrastructure as well as facilities, but there may be some problems of distancing to reach at classrooms n hostel. and one of the largest sports complex is available in my college. But no any wifi available in the hostel.there are some laboratory which having facilities at moderate level, but some specific laboratory such as ip and ece are well maintained. there are some problems may be occur with vegetarian bcz ni supply of good and proper diet..
I am studying in electrical engineering..the quality of teaching level is average. But there are some problems of space in laboratory and some lacking of instruments in laboratory..such as electrical and chemistry lab specially but in ese, ece and other labs are in well n good condition.
The quality of placement is not in good condition but in case of ese and ece ,the placement level is outstanding as compare to other branches. and average placement of my college is 6 to 7 lpa if we considered of all the branches
Approx 1.5 lps..I feel better here bcz I know that, my college is a national level institute so there would be better facilities as compare to other colleges..that's why I am getting my money's worth
I would like to say about my campus life.that is a pleasant and peaceful life .right now I have to improve my skills by taking some reference of senior and as well educated facilities
NIT AGARTALA has one of the best infrastructure in India.it has the biggest sport complex (source Wikipedia) and ofcourse it is beautiful.Hoestels are awesome, the new RNT hostel has all modern facilities and we have separate mess also.and there is an international guest house. And a small and attractive lake. we have all modern equipments in our lab kike ELVIS IN NETWORK LAB.the environment is also hygiene and clean and ofcourse greenery
I am doing electrical engineering because i love this field. The professors are also well educated and the way of teaching is also excellent.yes we are being updated and getting good education which will help our skill and knowledge ,and we will get good jobs.
to be honest due to its location its placement is not so good but not bad also its average.the average placement is about 5 lakhs.CSE branch students gets higher package. But its average package is improving day by day.
I am fee waiver students so i hardly pays 40000 per annum.yes that's worthy
Best features of this college is its unity and the worst features is its far away from our home and not in well developed area
The college is outstanding it has many advantages and few disadvantages
Infrastructure is the most fascinating thing about NITAgartala.Spread in a 366 acre lush green area the campus is filled with all the modern facilities.Being a fully residential campus it houses all the facilities required for an everyday living of a student.Hostels are very impressive and have in house mess providing hygienic food.It has a huge dedicated sports complex having all the indoor and outdoor games as well as a gym.Overall a student won't regret coming here in terms of infrastructure.
The academics here is quite decent compared to other colleges. Although we have many professors having a vast knowledge in their respective fields but it lacks in other academic oriented facilities. The curriculum is similar to the ones adopted in IITs and other NITs and is revised regularly keeping in mind the needs of industries so that the students have adequate knowledge and skills. Also, various academic related seminars and sessions are held apart from the regular classroom teachings.
The quality of placements has been overwhelming in the past few years. Agartala, being located in the northeastern part poses a major factor of location.Despite that,The Placement Team's dedication and the improved ranking of college resulted in many major companies putting a foot in college and recruiting students. The last placement season saw more than 75-80% eligible students grabbing an offer. The average salary for this season remained 7-8 lpa, while salaries ranging from 5.5 lpa to 20 lpa.
The course fees is around 2 lacs per year for a general student having a family income of 5 lacs and above, but there is remittance in fees for other students depending on their family income and caste. Apart from this many scholarships are provided to the students from state as well as central government. The fees is according to the MHRD and is fully worth for the facilities and teaching being provided here.
The campus being located on outskirts of the city lacks in the city life but this is not a big issue. The campus itself is a nice place to enjoy with your friends. It is having many small restaurants providing different foods like chinese, northindian, southindian etc satisfying the taste buds of students coming from various parts of the country. The campus is attached to the TRIPURA STATE RIFLES having an amazing park and food court.
At last I would like to say that NIT Agartala is quite an amazing college and you can look forward for it depending on your JEE MAIN score. Also as everything is never a perfect one so is true with it and there is lots of space for improvement but you can have a really good start for your career and learn many things here.
Infrastructure is the best part to be appreciated in NIT-A. It has a world-class infrastructure. Not all colleges can afford it. NIT Agartala has the best modern infrastructure compared to at least 20 NITs, being established in 1965. Coming to the hostels, they are the beautiful places that you get to spend a part of your B.Tech life. I assure you that NIT-A hostels are of such a kind. First-years get RNT hostel, which will blow your mind. Such a beautiful place to spend. Also the academic ones!
Most of the core faculty hold doctorates. They are ready to teach whatever you want. The curriculum is excellent. As per the new syllabus, entire 7th and 8th semester of Electrical Engineering is dedicated to internship and to gain industrial skills. After all its engineering. It's your responsibility to build up your skills whenever you get free time. Resources inside NIT-A are adequate to make you industry-ready. Labs are of a very good standard and always open for practice. Definitely, you ca
As per director sir's words, NIT-A has a placement percentage of 80 and is expected to be raised to 85% this year. In simple words, you will surely be placed with a very decent package of 9L above if you maintain a CGPA of 8.0+. No need to worry about the placements. The average package rose to 6 Lacs compared to 5.11 Lacs last year.
Being a general student of income .5 Lakhs, the course costs me approx 1 Lakh per semester which includes hostel and mess fee. I feel you are paying too much when compared to many students who avoid paying the fee with the help of a few fake mediums.
There are many cultural and Technical clubs to join if you wish. You have plenty of chances to show off yourself. There are two annual fests. AAYAM-The Technical Fest. MOKSHA-The cultural fest. They are held in odd and even semesters respectively. There are plenty of Dhabas, Cafes, Parlours where we can eat tasty food. There is also a paid south canteen, where we get tasty tiffins and south style curries. You will enjoy the campus!!
Being south Indian, I was scared to join first. Our batch strength is 800 out of which 400 are home state quota. Out of 400 other state quota, 155 people are Telugu. Other south Indians add the count to 170. 40% of other state quota are South Indians. So Telugu guys, other south people, don't be scared to join NIT-A. Lastly, the most important thing is food. I am from Visakhapatnam. As a typical South Indian, I rate breakfast (7/10), Lunch (5/10), and dinner (8.5/10). Don't worry about food!!
The infrastructure of college is quite good. There are department wise seperate buildings! Sports complex is also very well built! There are two grounds Hockey one and football, cricket combined but they are not well maintained! (Reason working staff) The issues that I found is that the market area is village-type! I mean you'll get everything you need but it isn't cool! Other issue is that buildings are little bit far from hostels!
I have to agree that curriculum is not updated and the academics scene is not good! I mean you'll have to do everything on your own during exams! Some faculties are good but most of them are really not upto the mark!
Placements are fine! But yes it's a fact not very big companies come here due to location issue! But most of the Indian companies, mass recurieters and tier 2 companies do come! There has been approx 100% placements in CSE, ECE and EI branch in recent years! Average salary is around 6lpa of college but the avg salary of above branches mentioned is around 9lpa this year! Highest salary offered has been 35lpa!
The best thing about NIT Agartala is its sports complex it has almost everything including swimming pool and indoor basketball courts and badminton court and indoor tennis court. There is no use of smart board in the class. Jay hostels have line port but some of them don't work. The living spaces are very good but the food is average.
I was studying electronics and instrumentation engineering and the quality of teaching is good. The curriculum on the syllabus according to me is updated and the lions are very good and the curriculum does make you job ready.
The placements of CSE is very good almost every CSE student gets placed but the placement for other branches is not good only about 60 to 70% of students get placed. The average placement is around 5 lakh rupees.
The cost per semester is 90000 including hostel and mess fees for general and OBC. The campus is kept very clean and green and sports complex is very well maintained. Ragging free campus. The sports complex is newly built
The campus is very good but talking about the safety I am experienced earthquake and lighting. College is located within hills. The students teacher and support staff are very supportive. The best feature there is a sports complex.
Sometimes we have internet ban by the government.
College has good infrastructure overall. College has well equipped Gym facilities. NIT Agartala has one of the best integrated sports complex in india. Institute also has digital library , decent laboratories and well maintained hostels.
I am pursuing Bachelor's of Technology in electrical engineering. Electrical department has decent number of teachers and all the faculties are experienced. The curriculum is updated for new batches and now students can go for 6 month internship in their 8 semester.
The placement are average in core companies and it's the case in every engineering college even if it is top IITs . I have given average rating on the basis of average package which is being offered. Average package is about 6-7lpa in electrical. Bt it's definitely more than any private colleges and it's increasing .
NIT Agartala has really beautiful and large campus. It's spread over 320 acres . It is located about 30 km from Agartala airport and around 20 km from Agartala city.
Overall college is decent , i would say it's best in north east.
Hey Jatin:)
Thanks for reaching out!
If biotechnology at NIT Agartala is showing in the CSAB choice filling portal,it means you can select it but that doesn't always means seats are available. CSAB portal shows all branches including those with zero vacancies. However, since this branch is not listed in the PDF released by CSAB it likely means there are no vacant seats right now.
CSAB still allows you to fill such choices so that if a seat becomes available later due to someone withdrawing or reshuffling, you can still be considered for it.
Note: It's advisable to include such options but make sure to keep branches with confirmed availability higher in your list incase no vacancy opens up later.
Hope this clears your query!
That's a very specific and important question to ask during the CSAB special rounds. The discrepancy between what you see on the choice-filling portal and the official PDF document is a common point of confusion for many students.
Here's the most accurate way to understand this situation:
The information displayed on the online choice-filling portal is generally considered the most up-to-date and authoritative source for seat availability during the counseling process. While the PDF documents released by CSAB are helpful for reference and as a general guide, the live data on the portal reflects the real-time status of vacant seats.
Therefore, if NIT Agartala's Biotechnology branch is showing up as a choice available in your portal, it means there are indeed vacant seats for you to fill for that particular branch and category.
There could be several reasons for this kind of discrepancy:
Real-time updates: The online portal is dynamically updated. As students surrender their seats, withdraw from the process, or have their seat allocations canceled for various reasons, those seats become vacant and are immediately added to the available choices for the subsequent rounds. The PDF documents, on the other hand, are static. They are published at a specific point in time and might not reflect the most recent changes.
Tentative nature of PDFs: The PDF for vacant seats is often released as a "tentative seat vacancy." The document itself might even state that candidates can fill choices that are not listed in the table, further reinforcing that the online portal is the primary source of truth.
Category-specific vacancies: The PDF might show a general overview, while the online portal will show the specific seats available to you based on your category (e.g., General, OBC, SC, ST) and other criteria like state quota. A seat might be vacant in a category that wasn't mentioned in the general PDF but is open for you to apply for.
My recommendation is to trust the online choice-filling portal. If you see NIT Agartala's Biotechnology as an option, you should definitely consider adding it to your list of preferences if you are interested in that branch and college. The goal of CSAB special rounds is to fill all the remaining seats, and the online system is designed to facilitate this by showing all possible options to eligible candidates.
Yes, NIT Agartala does offer branch changes to first-year B.Tech students. The process for 2025-26 is likely to be similar to previous years, involving an online application portal, CGPA-based merit ranking, and seat availability considerations. While IIEST Shibpur may have closed its branch change option this year, NIT Agartala generally provides this opportunity.
