NIT Meghalaya Facilities

The university provide modern and upgraded facilities to students. NIT Meghalaya facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls with a mess, wi-fi, gym and sports equipment. The university has a doctor who visits the campus thrice a week. NIT Meghalaya campus has a central library with an ample number of text and reference books and electronic resources.

Other NIT Meghalaya facilities like banking, book shops and post office are available within one kilometre of the academic campus. There is a canteen located on the academic NIT Meghalaya campus that offers delicious meals and snacks. The availability of these facilities provides students with everything they need and make their life on the campus convenient.

Boys Hostel
There are five boys hostels at the campus. The total accommodation capacity of boys hostels is 464. For the convenience of students, basic facilities such as mess, gym, wifi etc. are available at boys hostels.
Girls Hostel
NIT Meghalaya has two individual hostels for girls. The combined accommodation capacity of both hostels is 140. The rooms of girls hostels are well-furnished and offer a comfortable stay to students.
Medical/Hospital
NIT Meghalaya has arranged for a doctor’s visit on the campus thrice a week. The university has a pact with a reputed hospital of the state to treat students, staff and faculty members.
Library
The central Library houses the popular titles in Engineering, Technology, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management to enrich the students with requisite knowledge and expertise. It has a rich collection of around text and reference books and electronic resources. In addition to this, the Library provides access to the Digital Library of ACM, IEEE and ASME.
Sports
For students who are interested in sports, the university has facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports.
I.T Infrastructure
To ensure students are offered the best learning environment, the university has robust and modern IT infrastructure.
Cafeteria
The canteen at the campus serves breakfast and lunch to students. The nutritious food served is prepared in hygienic manner.
Auditorium
National Institute of Technology Meghalaya has a modern auditorium to hosts cultural and academic events of the university.
Alumni Associations
The university has a good networking for the alumni association.
Wifi
The university has a Wi-Fi connectivity for the students. Wifi can be accessed in every corner of NIT Meghalaya campus.
Gym
Each boys hostel has an individual gym for students. The gyms have modern equipment and it allows to remain fit and healthy.

College Infrastructure

Our college infrastructure was more than adequate, and we had all the facilities we needed on campus, including computer labs, a workshop, and a library. The hostel was very nice, with good maintenance, and each room had only two occupants. We enjoyed our B.Tech days very much.

College Infrastructure

The college has a good environment, and public transportation is nearby. However, the grounds are too small, with only limited playing equipment, and sufficient only for parking and roaming. The lab facilities are good, and the computers work properly. Only three events happen each year.

To get a seat.in any NIT candidates has to appear inJee mains exam with a sc ore of atleast 90 percentile of marks for general candidate.But for EWS candidates the percentile of marks in jee mains is 85-80 percentile of marks in jee mains for below category NIT

Being a north indian, Should I join NIT Meghalaya Cse? Will it be a right decision?

Dear Aspirant,

The choice of joining NIT Meghalaya is completely upto what you are interested in and what your comfort zone is.

There are a few factors to consider.

1. NIT Meghalaya is a very new campus and hence the faculty, alumni network, course structure, internship.opportunities are all very sloppy.

Hi,

NIT Meghalaya is a newer NIT as compared to most of the other NITs. It was established in 2010, in Shillong. Students often complain about its not-so-good infrastructure and location/transport problem because of the current temporary campus. However, its permanent campus is under development in Cherrapunji.
