How to normalisation in TS EAMCET

Normalisation is a process for ensuring the students neither advantaged or disadvantaged by the difficulty of examinations conducted in multiple sessions based on a simple formula-

NORMALISED MARKS OF A CANDIDATE-

GMS+  (Top Average Global - GMS)

_______________________         *  (Marks Obtained by candidate - SMS)

(Top Average Session - SMS)

where,

• SMS = Average + Standard Deviation (of the session that the candidate belongs to)
• GMS = Average + Standard Deviation (of all the candidates across all the sessions)
• Top Average Session = Average marks of top 0.1% candidates in the session that the candidate belongs to
• Top Average Global =  Average marks of top 0.1% candidates of all the candidates across all the sessions

• Weightage for assigning the merit marks - 75% of EAMCET normalised marks and 25% of intermediate marks in the group subjects to prepare the rank
