Negative system have or not for this exam?
- BITSAT 2018 will be held in online mode from May 16 to May 31, 2018.
- The BITSAT 2018 paper will have a total of 150 questions from all 4 sections.
- Physics and Chemistry will have 40 questions each, while English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning will carry 15 and 10 questions respectively. The maximum question in the paper (45) will be from Mathematics section.
- All questions will be objective in nature wherein the candidates have to choose 1 correct answer out of the 4 answer options available.
- There is no time limit to attempt any section, thus, candidates can take up any question any time from anywhere from any of the 4 sections and follow rest of the questions later.
- Each correct answer will be given 3 marks, while for each incorrect response, the candidates will be awarded -1 which means that the entrance exam has negative marking. Therefore, candidates must be very careful in choosing the answer options. It should be a guesswork which will be highly disadvantageous for them. For unattempted questions, no marks or zero marks will be given.
- If candidates are able to answer all 150 questions within the given 3 hours (without skipping any question), then they can attempt an additional 12 questions (four each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only), however, they will not be able to make any changes in the 150 questions they have attempted earlier.
- Candidates must note that the questions in BITSAT paper are randomly selected from a large question bank. Thus, candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee ensures that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc.
- The question paper of BITSAT 2018 is designed in a manner that an average candidate is able to complete it within the given 3 hours, while a sharp candidate will get the opportunity to take extra 12 questions. This gives brilliant candidates the opportunity to score high.
