Hi,

In WBJEE counselling your gmr is considered during college admission. The category rank represents where you stand with your score among the other candidates of your category.

However, in some cases, if your gmr is not enough for the course you are applying for in a certain college, they happen to consider your category rank only if it is a very good category rank.

Otherwise 98% of the time your gmr is what they consider.
