Quality of teaching is excellent and you will get an all-round development. You will have 50 marks for internal and 50 marks for external. You will have slots allocated for different subjects. Because of this covid it's is slightly changed . Now NITC is following continuous evaluation through some internal activities. Only have low weightage for end semester examinations. The academic is overall good and the teacher's are also very much cooperative for approachable.Rating 4.5
The placements are good. Many MNCs visit our college, like Qualcomm Technologies, HCL, Accenture, Goldman Sachs etc. The average package offered is 10 Lacs per annum. Last year, the highest package offered was 50 Lacs per annum by Adobe. While considering some departments it not that much good. MBA have placements but not everyone got placed. Engineering streams most of them are placed with good packages. But the institute have a brand value. Rating 4.5
It's a great value for money .It's one of the institute in India who charging only a less amount bof fee for completing the ug and pg programs especially MBA ...we know that MBA is one of the costlier course.NITC providing state of the art facilities with low cost. Rating 4.8
Campus Life is so good. There are number of fests in NITC like Raagam ( cultural fest of NITC) ,Thathwa ( technology fest of NITC), Tarang( management fest of NITC) . These are the biggest fests in South india. I will give a 4.5 rating

Even though the college is built in the 60s the buildings are well maintained. All the facilities are good. The class rooms are big enough laboritaries libraries are good sports section need to be improved more. The college wifi is a blessing
Currently I am in the 4th semester of mechanical engineering. Quality of teaching is good. The curriculum is also good. Curriculum is also up to date but there is still room for improvement. You still need to work yourself to be job ready

The course fee is around 1.2 lakhs per annum for a normal student there corresponding reduction in financiallly struggling students.
Beautiful and vibrant campus with lot of greenery wherever you go. The technological and cultural fests like TATHVA and RAGAM are also very good.
The infrastructure is a little old but it is good especially for the 1st years because it has got everything that you need. The campus is clean and the food provided is also hygienic.Every hostel and building has wifi facilities.
I took chemical engineering because i am interested in it.They teach you everything in the class and you just have to review it once more before the exams.Yes,the curriculum is up to date and it makes the students job-ready.
The quality and quantityof the placements is good as around 70-75% students gets placed. The highest package last year was of 50 lakhs/annum and it was from mechanical engineering.Yes, the college is very supportive and the faculties and the staff helps you through every process.

The campus life is very fun and a very busy life.
Our college has an awesome infrastructure and has all the required facilities and equipment. We have a central library with additional benefit of a digital library. The hostels are fine and the living spaces are very clean.
I am pursuing B.tech Computer Science Engineering. The quality of teaching is amazing, the faculty is very helpful and anytime ready to solve our queries. Most of them hold a degree of Ph.D and are very experienced.
The placements in our college are really good. About 90% of students were placed overall and 100% students of my branch in 2019. The average salary offered is about 10LPA and the highest package offered was 50LPA to a CSE student.
The course costs around one lakh per year. Yes, it's worth the price.
The college has amazing centres be it for sports or cultural events. There's a gymnasium, teams for sports and cultural events. The fest makes it even more awesome.

In general ,NITC provides good placements though good placements are confined to certain streams only .The highest salary package offered was 50 lakh and it went to Computer Science stream. C S has almost 99% placements. The average salary offered is 8 lakh. The college is supportive of the students and it has a Technology Business Incubator to promote start up ventures.

The college provides the best and unforgettable 4 years of your life. The students are able to hone both their technical and extracurricular skills by the facilities furnished by the college.
Has really good wifi speed, study halls with good infrastructure and great library. Classrooms seems a bit shady, football court has zero lighting. Furnished study hall. Great open air theatre. Poor wardens.
Quality of education is moderate as new faculties who are in experienced joined recently in magnitudes. Curriculum is not updated.... Still stuck in prehistoric times just like college infrastructure.
Have good opportunities of getting placed with a good income...but poor preparation for tackling interviews nd cracking preliminary exmams. Average salary offerred is around 80,000 rupees per month. (Approx)
We have all the facilities and equipments.Food is not good sometimes but its hygienic .There is a facility of library. Smart boards are available. Sports are also available.Infrastructure is good and environment is also good.
Circulum is good and updated.Quality of teaching is good but not perfect . Faculty teaches by seeing the power point presentations just by reading it. This will make us moderately ready for jobs. If we read ourselves and practice more,it will be good.
Yaa the college is good and the placements are good only for few branches but not for all. There are restrictions for placements. Students with certain CGPA are only allowed for placements. College is supportive .
I am paying the full fee ..but i dont think the money which i paid is worth in all cases . The study they teach doesn't give more knowledge. So,i think it is not worthy paying that much money. Per one year it costs 1,60,000 including hostel fee, mess fee and tution fee.
We will come across a very good experience in life ups and downs ....but we learn more things which helps us to develop in future...the location is not safe actually but it can handle the emergencies
Hello Mr. Bini,
Considering your son's rank in JEE Main (3715 in General category, Maharashtra), here below is the categorization that might help you narrow down the options:
CSE in NIT Calicut (or Other NITs):
ECE in IIIT Hyderabad:
ECE in NIT Warangal/Surathkal/Trichy/Rourkela:
If the emphasis is on core tech roles and software engineering, get him a place in CSE at a top NIT (ideally Trichy, Warangal, or Surathkal). If there is a willingness to accept a comprehensive, research-based academic program, with future scope in core tech, AI or higher studies, then ECE at IIIT Hyderabad could be the best long term option. Do not opt for lower-tier NITs if you can get him into one of these higher tier institutes.
With an OBC-NCL rank of 22,373 , getting admission to NIT Calicut is unlikely , as the closing ranks for most branches in previous years were much lower.
For example:
CSE : ~2,846
ECE : ~3,551
Consider exploring other NITs or use the Careers360 JEE Main College Predictor for a better estimate. Let me know your home state for more specific guidance.
It's difficult to say definitively whether a 94.4148 percentile in JEE Main, with home state, OBC, and female quota, will guarantee a BTech Physics seat at NIT Calicut. While a 94 percentile is a good score, it's not a guarantee of admission to a specific program at a specific NIT.
The final cutoff ranks and percentiles for NIT Calicut vary from year to year and are influenced by factors like the overall JEE Main performance, the number of applicants, and the number of seats available.
Your percentile needs to be converted to a rank, which is what is used for seat allotment during the JoSAA counselling process.
Home state quotas can significantly impact your chances, as seats are reserved for students from the state where the NIT is located.
These quotas further influence seat allocation, and the impact on a program like BTech Physics will depend on the specific number of reserved seats and the overall demand for that program.
I suggest you to use JEE predictor tool which will help you to know your chances in nit Calicut .
