The institution has a good infrastructure but doesn't have labs and department buildings for all departments. It has all the in the laboratories but not in good condition because of being one of the oldest NITS .
I am studying B tech in civil engineering.I chose this because I have always had interest in buildings and their constructions since childhood. The curriculum here is up to the date and the teaching also practical which makes us more interested interested in the subject.
Placements here are satisfactory.Although branches other CSE doesn't have more placements ,many people get hired for computer jobs by learning coding and package is also satisfactory.College always supports it's students in getting good job and further opportunities.
Being a central government aided institution, campus always helps the students economically. There is a minimal fee for the students of backward communities and economically weaker sections. And the education we get here is worth to what we are paying.
Campus is really a pleasant and gives homely feeling with many trees around.Students always have some refreshing acitivities and events to get entertained.Institution also has some interesting things like sports NSS NCC which really help students .It has surveillance every where in the campus and students protection is taken seriously.
College is having all the facilities. The classrooms are having projectors. There is a wifi facility in campus as well as in hostels. The surroundings are well maintained. The food in mess are of average taste. One have to habituate it.
Academics are well saod. Lecturers teach well and the suggest books. There is library facility so that we can take books . The curriculum is updated and makes students reach their goals. There are recent developments involved in curriculum.
Placements in here are good. Students with CGPA 6.5 and above are allowed for placements. There are even internship placements available here. One have to prepare well to the exam well to get shortlisted.
Tution fee depends on category and annual income. There are mess fee and hostel fee which will be nearly amd above 40,000. The study taught here is worth of paying. There are electives also available which can be helpful towards our goal.
Campus life in hood. There are two fests tatva and ragam. There will be festival celebrations also. The location is safe and can handle hard situations. To the actual city it is located 45 mins journey far. Teachers , staff are supportive.
The infrastructure is average. There is availability of wifi in hostels, and in college also. There are labs for cse students separately. The is also central library and digital library. Students can study in study room .During exam times extra permission will be allotted to stay in study rooms and study. There are more restrictions to girls compared to boys.
Academics are good. Lectures teach well and some lecture s teach through the ppts. The way they teach helps many students to reach their goals. The curriculum is updated and includes recent development. Quality of teaching is average. If didn't understand we can meet them personally and ask doubts
There is restriction to the students to appear for placements. Students have to work hard to get placed along with their grades. There will be an exam for shortlisting the students. Then there will be some rounds of interviews. Highest package is 40 Lakhs per annum. Average package is 12 Lakhs per annum.
The study given here is good and worthy paying. For one semester it is 62,000. That is per year 1,20,000. And it fee depends on the category and annual income. We also have an Health center provided ,where we can consult doctors.
Campus Life is good and refreshing. One can learn lot of thinks from the campus. We can see lot of politics during the inductions of clubs. There are many clubs which are technical and cultural. There are two fests per year called tathva, technical fest and ragam , cultural fest
Albeit the infrastructure and material used in the first year classrooms standing out, the classes from second year tend to not have mikes and proper lighting, this combined with the fact that there are almost 70-80 in a class meant that the takeaway from a class was poor.
I am studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and the quality of teaching is poor to average, this is owing to the fact that although the faculty are in high academic standing they do not know how to teach, this contributes to us not understanding anything which directly leads to poor quality of education all round.
The highest salary obviously went to the CSE department, but however owing to the multitude of extra curricular activities in the college, everybody has access to everything, meaning one could end up taking a degree in chemical engineering but end up in the mechanical department if one is ambitious enough.
Being a government college, the fees is not high and hence it is unnecessary to evaluate the question.
The Campus life is pretty good, with people from all walks of life being here it is truly a remarkable place to be in. However the traditional thinking attitude of the college administration has started to take a toll on the students recently. Poor understanding of different situations has cost the students as well as the administration multiple times. But however besides that, it is a terrific place go be in.
The college has a mixed set of architecture. Some buildings are new and well equipped and comfortable while some buildings were built during the later part of twentieth century. The campus is all green and has WiFi.
The Architecture department is way better and has a better ranking when compared to B.Tech department. There are both new and senior faculties. The teaching involves mostly projects and sketches. We go on study tours too.
It is not very impressive when it comes to placements, the rate is very less compared to btech. Students usually opt for higher studies over working immediately. But companies do come here the hire architecture students.
It is a pretty valuable course (top third in India)
I've made so many friends and memories in this college. The same social Life is pretty good.
Yes, my college do have a lot of infrastructure that includes WiFi, smart boards etc and is properly maintained with all facilities and equipments. Some of the buildings do look old like they're from a long bygone era but the management ensures that they are well maintained. The students are provided with all the facilities they need, the college has good hostels, air conditioned Labs, a fantastic library, three tennis court, indoor badminton courts, and even a swimming pool, grounds etc
The academics seems to be pretty good here. But the teachers here seems pretty old and have way old practises and the students can't question them in any manner. Apart from these the teaching is pretty good, right from basics to everything we need.
The placements here are pretty good, almost there is a 100% placement in my college whereas the highest salary ranges almost 50 LPA. Top recruitment companies were Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Adobe systems etc.
There are new hostels. But the old hostels are still in use, which is in bad condition. We get different choices in mess, North and South in a affordable cost. The infrastructure of departments are in good condition. facitlities are provided like WiFi, smart teaching, supperate labs for students. The spaces are clean and hygienic
Architecture. The permanent lectures are very good in making us understand and also very well qualified. But some temporary faculties are not good in teaching. It feels the college is following the old syllabus , but still it helps getting is job ready
The placement is pretty good in recent years. More than 70% of students have get placed last year. The highest package was 50lacks per annum, in B.tech. The average salary was more than or around 5lack per annum last year.
The money is totally worth it.
Hostel rooms and mess food are good. There are 10 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. Every hostel has its own mess. The class rooms and lab equipments are archaic. Though some labs have modern equipment, the students aren't allowed to use them most of the time as they are expensive.
A few faculties are really good, while others are not that great m The curriculum is updated regularly. But the pattern of tests and assignments is very stressful. The grading in relative. The evaluation is strict.
The placements for Circuital Branches (CSE, ECE and EEE) is very good, with an average package of 10Lpa+, while the highest was close to 40lpa. The placements and package for non Circuital branches isn't as good as the former.
The campus is 300 acres big. The campus life is vibrant with clubs activities and technical and cultural festivals and department festivals happening across the year. The clubs in the college conduct open Miks and other activities.
The campus has both buildings that were constructed during the 60's and the ones that were recently constructed. The class rooms are decent. They donot have air conditioning. The labs are well equipped. The campus has an academic wifi present. Only student can access the wifi. There are both new and old hostels. The food in the mess is delicious (compared to other NITs and private colleges). There are plenty of facilities for sports.
The academics is just what you would expect in any NIT/IIT. We have both young and senior professors. The year is divided into two semesters. Winter semester and Monsoon semester. The evaluation is continuous evaluation with one mid term and one end semester examination. The quality if teaching varies from teacher to teacher and it also depends on the student's attitude towards the subject.
So many companies come here for placements around the year. Companies ranging from Microsoft, Oracle, amazon, Goldman Sachs, Jp Morgan, Bajaj you name it. You'll see them all here. The placement percentage is also pretty good. Most of the students get placed in the IT sector.
Whatever program you study here, be it B.TECH M.TECH or PHD, you'll never regret spending your money here. The fee is very low when compared to other private colleges. It is around Rs 65000 per year. Hostel fees may range from 1000 to 7000 depending on your hostel and your mess bill.
The hostel/campus life is definitely going to be the best here. When classes get over, fun begins. There are a lot of clubs like L&D, IPF, ISTE, ICA etc run by students in the campus. Students also be a part of the programming committee for ragam and tathva (the cultural and tech festivals of NIT calicut)
College has a football ground, cricket ground, tennis court, volleyball court and hockey ground. A new basketball court and tennis court are being constructed. Hostel mess food is contracted to experienced and very hygienic contractors so good food is never a problem
I'm studying EEE. Senior faculties have a lot of experience and explain concepts very well. Even though the curriculum is hectic it has been updated to include the recent developments in technology. Several electives are offered to widen the scope and knowledge of students
Placements have been very good. 5lac CTC is the base offer, however students do get placements of 50lacs also. Internship offers for 3rd year students are also very good. Placement procedures vary from company to company
My education costs 8000usd per year as I'm a DASA student. Considering the quality of teaching and infrastructure, it is quite good for the money. If you get admission into this college, you need not worry about money because when you graduate, you will be very open to wide opportunities.
Students can engage in various clubs including LnD, AV, ICA and many more. Also we have the biggest cultural fest in South India(Ragam) . Our tech is also the biggest in the Malabar region fest. Location is 25km away from Calicut but it's close to KMCT so medic emergencies is not a problem. Also, college ambulance is on duty 24*7.
This college will definitely shape a good future for any serious student. Both studies and other activities are enjoyable and shape you to become a better person. However, discipline is very important.
