Apart from 85% attendance which is a bit debateable point, some teachers are good but others are just reading pdf and ending the class . So the teaching is average like other colleges . The curriculum is updated to date and the institute focuses on practical knowledge along with conceptual clearance
The placements here are good with last year's data the average package was 9-12 lpa and mostly all branch can sit for placements for software companies. Core companies do come but most placements are from analytics company (av 12lpa)
The fees for general is 6-7 lpa which is very less compared to other colleges but among nits it is the highest .
Overall it is a good place to develop one self for further studies and to make a good carrier

The college is well-equipped with all the facilities that a student requires in modern times. It has a well-rounded infrastructure that is on par with many other prestigious institutes all over India. The classrooms, labs, libraries, and sports centers are well maintained with the library having free Wi-Fi. The hostels are a bit on the lower side of maintenance but it all depends on who the resident of the hostel room is. The rooms are equipped with a high-speed LAN.
The professors at NIT Rourkela are experienced and knowledgeable with many of them constantly trying to make the subject seem interesting to learn. You may face problems with some of the teachers but in the end, it's all about the rapport between the teacher and the student. The curriculum is up-to-date and the professors try to teach from the industry point of view. So by the time you graduate, you are good to go.
Placements are entirely branch-specific with CSE having the highest percentage. But that doesn't mean the others are left out. Well renowned companies like Microsoft, Adobe, etc. come for recruiting. You could always try out for the company you always wanted to work for. Throughout the years, placements for Mechanical have been consistent so that's one less thing to worry about. Working hard can get you the job you want.
NIT Rourkela offers good value-for-money but there are areas it can improve in. The food isn't that great but there are restaurants around so that won't be a problem. The hostels can use a little maintenance too. Otherwise, it's all good.
The campus life in NIT Rourkela is really good with all the students willing to reach out to those who require help. It is a good podium to network with people and build good relationships. The students can join clubs that catch their attention or the ones that suit their needs. You get the best support from the seniors in the clubs.

HIghest salary package offered was about 30lakhs in adobe. And in govt sector a average of 15lakhs the placed students get. this is nice in a nit college.
General students pay about 2lpa ,which is okay in view. As better things are never free . So this money I assure everybody is worthy. many colleges charge above 4lakhs/annum but as in no match to our college. I am totally satisfied with the college.
NIT RKL is famous for its campus life and placements. the college has a lot of clubs in which a student can join explore his/her talent. best thing about the college is We get a lot of tech fests which broaden the mind of students. the coding culture is also improving year by year. I'm paying around 3 lac per annum for my course. Yes I feel that the money is surely worth it.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic situation I haven't been able to enjoy the college life yet. But I have heard from my seniors that the campus is heaven. Its the second largest campus after iit kharagpur. It is a situation at rourkela which is the steel City.
Whatever I have experienced till now is just amazing.
