The college has an alluring infrastructure with the needed facilities in the hostels and sport centres, sufficient equipments in the Laboratories of the Departments, and libraries are always clean and has enouogh books to read in the college life.
The academics is strong and competitive here and this is learning process makes the student overcome the problems himself. This makes the students self sufficient and the personality that they grow in themselves makes them ready to tackle the battles in their life.
The placements are really amazing with the highest placement offered as 43 lacs, with a lot of new companies and outstanding packages this year. This year, the average package has been increased by approximately half the last year. Except the ones who did not sit for placements, almost all of the rest students are placed with good packages.
The facilities provided and the environment here lifts up the students, enhancing their skills and making it easier to achieve the dreams. This is worth the money being paid. The course fee that we pay every year is lower than the current one.
The college has a lot of clubs focusing on chemical innovations, coding, racing, dance and music, charity, entrepreneurship cell, etc. This helps in overall development of the students. The teachers are not different than any other college of the same level, but they support the students in the research and other parts of the academics.
The students after 12th are sometimes disheartened by the important choices that they make in their lives. They should remember that every failure is a pillar to their success. Be patient and think before taking decisions at every step of your life. Life teaches you this along with patience but dealing with problems is necessary to decrease them. So enjoy the college because this time cannot be re-lived.
We have all the necessary facilities available in the campus. All the facilities in the campus like classrooms , libraraies are well maintained. There is greenery in the whole campus. Classrooms are equipped with LAN connection facility.
I am now perusing ECE from NIT Rourkela. Quality of teaching is very good. Although many of faculties are from the research background and also they motivates the students to go in research field. Curriculum is updated and changes in regular intervals.
Coming to the placement section college is very much supportive. Approx 90% of Electronics students gets placed in good companies. Companies visited our campus for recruitment. Average package being offered is approx 10 LPA.
For a general category students fees is approx 2 Lakhs per annum. College also provide scholarship to the Economically weaker section students.
Campus life is the best among all. There are many clubs formed inside the campus. Students engage in many activities like sport events ,cultural fest.
Being the second biggest college in terms of area in India, we have all the necessary infrastructure and more here. Wifi is not available in the campus except for the library but LAN connection is available everywhere.
The curriculum and teaching pattern is great. Having a summer semester is very helpful for struggling students. Overall it is good but the faculty teaching quality is same as all other government colleges.
Placement has been very good and constant over the years. Alumni base is also very strong.Students have constantly bagged top jobs, mostly in India. The best branch is obviously CSE, with last year's placement average going to 16 lpa.
My course was not expensive as it is a government college. On top of that you can avail various state scholarships to basically study for free. The education is totally worth every penny.
There's multiple clubs for hobbies and interests. The campus has all the facilities to play sports which are regularly maintained.
With a gigantic 647 acres area, covered by a lavish greenery, the campus of NITR is situated right at the junction of hills of Rourkela. The campus is embellished with numerous and rapid development happening in all nook and concerns of the institute making it more enhancive.NITR is equipped with all the modern amenities like:Biju Patnaik central library, computer centre,hostels(7 boys',2 girls'),cafeteria,BBA,PPA auditorium. It has 180mbps internet speed, wi-fi connectivity,e-classes in campus.
I am in btech 1st year of mining engineering.Quality of teaching is excellent in NITR.Yes,whatever I am learning here is really going to bright my future and I am pretty sure of this.NITR has consistently won top awards and has always been ranked among the top technical institutes of the country, including IITs and NITs.Recently it was 2nd among all NITs and 15th among all technical institutes in India by MHRD.NITR offers a plethora of choices to its students in field of btech, barch, sci.,arts etc
Training and placement centre is responsible for placements ,training and internships at NITR.The placement centre head, staff and students representatives handle various crucial tasks in the office like reaching out to companies, executing placements related activities carrying out all official communication with recruiters and students. The placement records serve as a testament to the abilities and potential of the students of NITR.Year after year, the placements at NITR keep increasing.
As I am from general category so I have paid Rs.1,25,000 during my admission(including admission fee and other charges).fee structure varies with different casts so it seems a little biased to me but somehow I feel that I am getting my money's worth because there is everything in NITR campus which I have thought for a perfect place.
647acres campus is embellished with numerous and rapid development happening in all nook and corners of the institute making it more enhancive.students are engaged in various activities. The institute offers excellent opportunity to the students to participate in recreational and creative activities through its students' activity centre(SAC) which intends to serve as the nerve centre of all student activities in campus.Innovision,Nitrutsav and cosmopolitan are some fest organised in NITR.
NITR streches way beyond the classroom teaching and assignments. The presence of various student committees club ensure the honing of the abilities and skills of the students in various fields.Skill sets such as people management, team work, leadership qualities and exposure to real life situations bring students face to face with problems and solutions of everyday life.An engineer is after all problem solver and this forms the overriding ideology in shaping the minds here at NIT Rourkela.
college is spread in a very large area.college have a very good infrastructure for students whether it being college or hostel.Facilities like Classrooms, laboratories, libraries and sports are well maintained.
I am currently persuing bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering as i am having interest for the same since childhood.Quality of teaching haas been upto mark.Current curriculum is updated and includes all recent development.
Quality of placement have been very good in past few years.many big companies visit college for recruitment drives. On around 60-70 percent of students are placed every year through campus drive programmes with average salary 7-8 lakhs per annum.
Yes we have all the necessary equipment, facilities and the infrastructure here is really good. We have different buildings for different activities like student activity centre, training and placement building, halls etc. We have two separate buildings for classroom. We have separate buildings for all the departments. Our classroom is well equipped with lan connection, projector. The overall environment is so clean and filled with greenery and the mess food is hygienic but it sucks.
I am pursuing B-Tech CSE here because of my interests in machine learning and AI.The professors here are knowledgeable but they don't know how to teach. Some are really good and can make you feel the subject while others are here just for their duty to teach. Yes i think my curriculum is updated.
The placement here is well for upper branches like cse, ece,ee,mech but for lower branches it's not good enough. The percentage of students placed here is close to 85%.The highest package offered was around 42 lakhs last year from ECE.The average placement is around 13-14 lakhs for cse.The placement process was really nice and quite interesting. The professors were there to help us.
It costs around 2 lacs per year but it does offer scholarships facilities like you have to pay one- third the amount of tuition fee if your parents income is within range stated by the college. I do feel like all of this worth it because it doesn't only make us tech grad but also helps us in holistic development.
Like i said earlier our campus is full of greenery having mountains around it.As one of the largest campus in india it has different facilities to offer like dispensary, grocery, bank, stadiums, separate buildings for different departments. We have clubs of different types be it literary, technical or cultural. The student professor bond is quite strong,we do have profs who really help us.Our campus is located far away from city which is sometimes awful as we have to travel quite a distance.
Overall our college is quite good and worth joining for despite of the crummy 85% attendance here. The college offers wide range of engaging activities for overall development. We have two one of the biggest fests of North-East region cultural and technical. You will have a new family here far from your home.
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, has one of the best infrastructure in India. It is far better than most IITs. Each branch has its own department and classrooms are well maintained. Recently the new acadamic block was opened and arrangements are made to shift acadamic offices to new building. The pavements are hygenic and the best part is that the institute is suitable for those who obsessed with nature. The academic area is full of greenery.
I am studying Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech degree. The quality of teaching is good, but we cannot say that it is outstanding. But the interesting part is NIT Rourkela, is known for its faculty who have an awsome background in research. Coming to the curriculum, we are being taught various softwares which will be very helpful in professional carrer.
The placements are decent and the best package offered in 2018-19 was 40 lakhs, and for software job. Coming to mechanical engineering 80-90% has been placed. Major draqback is transportation, the officials of companies were unable to cause there is only railway acceess, and no need to mention about the punctuality of Indian Railway, though there is private airport. The placement process was easy and pleasent.
For a normal candidate the fee is around 2lakhs(per year), if you have OBC reservation you have to pay around 70,000(per year). I feel that the college management is doing its best to prove its worth. There is some problem with mess food, but it will there for one or another since IITs, NITs have students from every state around India, and we have to compromise in case of food.
Campus is nice, when I enter into the college I fell in love with campus at the very moment, being from village I love greenery the most, so its quite obvious. Fests are really amazing part in engineering student life. There is always one or other event going on in the institute throughout the year. And we can enjoy every part of it. The professors are very supportive and provide guidence regarding future. They care the most. College has its own dispencery, and very near to hospital.
NIT Rourkela, club culture is one of the best in India. For each activity there is around 2 to 3 clubs. And we are free to join whatever the club we want irrespective of our department. And if you are interest in research field NIT Rourkela is the best option though you are joining B.Tech.
Few equipments are here but faculties are not well in teaching as well as behavior with students. Overall NIT ROURKELA is great for other branches like B. Tech,Integrated etc . LAN connection is already given in the hostel room and in Department Wi-Fi activated. Food also hygienic its depend on Hostel to Hostel mess. Living spaces also avg. Clean.
I am studying Applied geology but nothing is like a applied. Faculties are not well except someone. I had no option other than this at a particular time that is why i am studying here. Its not make as well qualified student for job.
Very bad condition about placement for our Department specifically in M. Sc Applid geology. B. Tech is perfect for any purpose. Sometimes one or two out of 23 or 25 or 17 get placed. Actually here Master degree is like a secondary course so administrators have not interested in this activity. HOD is not capable of this post but even though its happen here.
Fees are very high per semester 40K and For 1st semester It is usually 58K.But as much fee they dont give all facilities.I am not satisfied with this institute with respect to fees and their facilities.
Campus life is very good different types of activities being happen during every year. Intra hall competition in different games. Dispensary is also good and their collaboration with high facility of Hospitals. Always a ambulance is ready for any emergency.
No i am too much frustrated here. activities being happen during every year. Intra hall competition in different games. Dispensary is also good and their collaboration with high facility of Hospitals. Always a ambulance is ready for any emergency
LAN facility, smart kiosk in library, projector teaching, clean mess, Sports facilitates volleyball basketball football cricket etc. equipments like washing machines available in hostels and different linguistic environment
Good academic criteria, lays emphasis more on board teaching and freindly teachers, most prominent language of teaching is English and the questions and doubts are regularly discussed in classes and teaching assistants are also provided for help
Average package upto 6 lakh ctc and good placement criteria bset placement branches include electronics and communication, computer science and electronics and instrumentation and highest ctc of about 40 lakhs
Dear student,
If you're passionate about design and have a decent JEE Main rank, the choice between
ISDI Mumbai (Product Design)
and
NIT Rourkela (B.Tech in Industrial Design)
comes down to your goals.
ISDI Mumbai is a pure design institute focused on creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. The program emphasizes real-world projects, portfolio building, and exposure to Mumbai’s design industry. It’s best for those who want a career in creative design , user experience, or product innovation. Admission is based on the ISDI Challenge , not JEE.
NIT Rourkela
