    What is BA (Hons) MA?

    BA (Hons) MA is a five-year, dual-degree integrated programme. It combines both BA (Hons.) and MA course, hence it is named BA (Hons.) MA dual degree course. Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded with dual degrees IN BA (Hons.) and MA BA (Hons) is a specialised undergraduate programme in arts discipline offered with a duration of three years. An MA is a postgraduate programme in the same discipline offered with a duration of two years.

    The programme spans ten semesters and has a compulsory master’s dissertation at the end of it for the students to consolidate all the knowledge gathered during the programme.

    BA (Hons) MA Admission Process

    Most institutes offer a BA (Hons) MA programme that selects students based on their 12th class board percentage and an entrance exam. Once they shortlist candidates, a merit list for various academic programmes is displayed on the Notice-Boards and the university’s official Website.

    If selected, the student must confirm their admission by the date stipulated in the corresponding year’s prospectus. Failure to do so shall be regarded as forfeiting one’s admission. Also, selected candidates must submit their original transfer/migration certificate at the time of admission.


    BA (Hons) MA Entrance Exam

    Here are the details regarding the entrance exam that students must appear for:

    Doon university entrance examination: Doon University conducts entrance examinations to offer admissions in BA Hons. MA in various disciplines including foreign languages Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese and French. It is conducted to test the general language and aptitude of candidates.

    The applicant must pay a fee of Rs. 800 at the time of filling the online application form. Application fee for SC/ST candidates who reside in Uttrakhand is Rs. 400/. The application fee is strictly non-refundable.

    Students will be exempted from appearing for the entrance test and will be given direct admission into the programme if they are among the top 10 rank holders of the CBSE, ICSE, and Uttarakhand Secondary Education Board for that year.


    BA. Hons. MA Cut Off

    The cut off is announced every year by colleges to provide admissions to candidates who secure a minimum rank or above based on their scores in the entrance examination. Cut off is usually affected by the number of students participating in the entrance examination, total number of available seats in the course and difficulty level of the examination.
