The academic facilities are just awesome , the professors are well qualified and teaching methods are very good , one of my favourite teachers is batta krushna ojha sir of maths department . Proffesors of other departments are also very good
currently i am studying in graduate years , as per previous years placement data , the placement have been almost around 100 % . CS department gets highest package , around 42LPA , average package is around 8.5LPA
National institute of technology rourkela is best value for money . the fees is also not too much high and are provided scholarships as well , we also have facility to get education loan from the SBI bank branch situated in the campus
i genuinely loved the life at the campus and would reccomend NIT Rourkela to my friends , relatives and juniors , who are preparing for JEE main . They will always be thankful for me for such awesome advice
I would suggest to join this wonderful institute for everyone who want to go for engineering specially for core banches , because the scope of core branches in NIT Rourkela is much higher than other NITs.
The college has all the necessary infrastructure and has one of the best infrastructure in India , all the facilities are provided and are well maintained .The living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic.
The academics is great the syllabus is up to date and the quality of teaching is good .The professors are very good and are well accomplished in their field. My curriculum includes all the recent developments in the field.
The placements in our institute are great the highest package is 42 LPA and the average package offered is good. Most of the students get placed with a good package and some opt for higher studies like MBA or MS etc.
As National Institute of technology Rourkela is a government institute the value for money is great and the facilities and the placements at the end of the course is worth it . The friends circle is great as everyone has achieved a good rank in jee main.
The campus life is amazing the friends make it more fruitful and nostalgic. The brilliant campus infrastructure further adds beauty to the campus life. A first year student makes friends with all the students from the country and also outside the country.
Our college have all the necessary infrastructure ,facilities and equipment. All the facilities in the college are used and they are well maintained .Wifi speed is not upto the requirement level but its enough for you to work or study from it.
I am currently enrolled in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering . The quality of Teaching is very good . Professors are very helpful and they will always listen to your queries. I think as per my knowledge the curriculum is very much updated along with all the recent development in the field. The curriculum of our will make us Job-ready.
The placement has been the best part of our college. The placement percentage of the college is great and in between 80-90 percentage. The highest package offered was 42 LPA and it went to Computer Science branch. The average salary offered was between 8-9 LPA .The placement process was easy and my college supported me in every manner possible
My course cost approximately 2 lakh per year. The facilities are worth the money but if the fees would have been low then it could have been more manageable.
There are more than 50+ club in the campus and you can join anyone of the club and actively participate in their events. The students get all the sports facilities along with many other facilities. The location of the campus is great and It is very safe. It can handle emergencies
According to the online reviews, I see NITR has all the minimum infrastructure that premier institutes need to have. There are lecture halls (All call them LA), the classrooms are spacious, lighting and ventilation take the above-average scoring. Hostels, Departments, Open Air Theater(SAC). All the buildings maintaining 4-star cleanliness.
I've enrolled in a chemical engineering degree. The quality of teaching is awesome. Professors are making academics an easy bite. My curriculum gets updated with the latest advancements in our field of study. All other than classrooms like labs, workshops, give us more exposure to our field. Yes, I would say these academics make us enough to be ready to go employee.
I've found that average placement packages are quite less than other top NITs. Due to more number of branches, I feel the average package has dropped down, considering the placements of all CS, EC, and other core branches the placement percentage is more, many students had placed in well-reputed companies with a decent CTC.
* Yes , our college have all the necessary infrastructure and it has very good facilities like experienced faculties and mentors, it has many suitable equipments. * Classrooms, laboratory, library, sports centers and hostels are awesome and well maintained.*Yes, the living places are clean and the food are hygienic.

Our college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. The facilities like classroom, laboratories, libraries, sports centres and hostels eg wifi smart board are very best and we'll maintained. Living spaces are clean and food hygienic. I like those facilities very much. They are best.
I am studying Mechanical engineering because I like machine work. The quality of teaching is very best and I love it. I think our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in my field. I think what I study makes me ready for a nice job. I think regarding overall academics the college gives the best.
The quality of placements at my college is very best . Among 80 percentage of students wert placed. The highest offered package salary offered is 50 lakhs and it goes to Computer Science Engineering group .
It costs 1.5 lakhs per annum. Yes it will be worthfull.
Campus is best with best features. Its safe and best
Nothing to say but according to my knowledge the college is best in all aspects
College campus is very good ,clean and well and maintained .It has agreat infrastructure structure with labs , classrooms. Its a wifi connected campus with best facilities. The food is very hygienic and clen.
I am in ceramic engineering as it's a research specific subject. It has great scope in res earch era .The labs and workshops are very advanced with equipments.Thats a great place for study and practise.
Placement is very good with with a highest package 43 lacs.In my branch highest one is 11lakh and avg is7.43lacs.The college has a great reputation in placement . Almost 85 percentage students got placed in different sectors like it and core companies.
Value of my money is worthful to be part of nitr.I have given 36k around one semester as my family income is less than 1 lacs.Besides money does not matter to be a great part of such respectable institute
Campus Life is very cheerful. One can get anything what he wants .There sports facilities both indoor and outdoor. There many clubs to boost your extra curricular activities like public speaking , poetry writing, business skills etc
It's a great part of this college. The college is placed in the of Rourkela district .It has good communication system either by train or four wheelers The campus is 1300, acre large with all facilities.
I'm loving the experience studying in NIT Rourkela. It has every single equipment and lots of quality facilities like LAN connection is present, like everywhere all lab instruments are properly working ,library has every book you'll need , food quality is very good ,medical facilities are very good and there are every sports available..
I'm currently in integrated MSc mathematics and that's me choice because, you know, I kinda love maths.. upto my understanding level lol? professors of mathematics here of course very knowledgeable and they are of great help clearing personal doubts too. The curriculum is updated and yes it includes all recent developments and modifications in respective fields.
Placements here is excellent. Mechanical has 80% placements with average 8lac per annum 50% were placed in my branch previous year.. and I'm not currently placed but I can surely say the placement process is very easy and pleasant, the college helped seniors a lot..
With the quality faculty , infrastructure, high placement ratio, endless facilities good WiFi everywhere I think it's worth my money.. it me costed around 1lac for 1st year..
Campus life at nit rourkela is really awesome. With top ranking in terms of campus size in nits you'll feel like living in a city..It's endless .. every student here is talented and friendly the seniors are friendly there's no ragging emergency facility is also there and is real quick.. lots of activity here engages me like badminton art photography and much more
I'll finally say if you've cleared jee main and are unable to get to any iits nit rourkela might be your best option if you're eligible cause college experience here at nit rourkela is really awesome and you'll never have regrets joining nit rourkela ??
College has not latest but great infrastructure.campus as well as hostels are WiFi enabled although the speed is not consistent. About the labs, I heard that labs are well equipped but I'll change my review (update it) after getting into campus
We are attending the classes in online mode so it's not much appealing, although some subjects are going great. I won't say ever subject is thought well in every section as teachers are different so there is no particular pattern. The main issue is not proffs I guess but it's technology that some proffs are struggling with.what I got to know till now is proffs are highly qualified and I'll update my review after being to campus.
About placement nitrkl has somehow good records. The placements of some top circuitry department is very good like maximum package is 40lpa but I will suggest you not to go with highest package instead average will go good. average package of our branch is like 7.5lpa.i don't have any communication with placement cell as I am a fresher and still haven't been to campus.
Being a central government college for general candidates 2lpa which I guess is quite high,me being ews candidate I have to pay 1.2 lpa where as if we compare with state government colleges it's very hefty like for state colleges it's 30-40k per year so.ignoring all of these if we talk about value for money so it's a yes from me. You will get a good placement (off course u have to work hard)
I am uncertain to say about campus life as I am not in campus but about interaction with staff , seniors and professors in online media it's very friendly so I guess it would be a remembering campus life, I'll update this too.
Good Morning,
NIT Rourkela CAT cutoff range is between 70-85 percentiles for the general category. 70 is the minimum percentile needed to apply, and 85 is the highest percentile. However, the maximum percentile depends on the particular year competition. It can be changed.
Thank You.
Hello,
With 99 percentiles in JEE Main and OBC-NCL category under Odisha home state quota, your chances for CS at NIT Rourkela are quite low CS cutoff usually stays around 99.6–99.8 percentile for OBC candidates.
However, you may get other good branches like EEE, Mechanical, or Civil in NIT Rourkela, or CS in lower-ranked NITs. Try to aim for 99.7+ percentile for CS there.
Hope you understand.
HELLO,
If you are considering M.tech in Industrial refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering at NIT Rourkela then let me tell you that it will be a great choice if you are inclined towards thermal engineering, refrigeration systems or research in cryogenics
Here are some details points so you can understood better :-
1.This program is offered under the Mechanical Engineering and it is quite specialized and the curriculum is well structured and includes advance subjects . The labs are well equipped and there is good exposure to work practically which will be a positive point.
2.For admissions you need to attend GATE + CCMT counselling and the seat intake is limited to 15, so it is quite competitive
3.If i tell you about placements so that is also good because students from this specialization have received good offers with some average package around Rs 9.5 LPA
4.Cryogenic engineering finds applications in various industries , including agriculture , marine, welding and food processing
5.NIT Rourkela is well ranked in india particularly in the engineering field
