what is best to choose RVCE CSE or Bits Goa Chemical or NSIT ICE or DTU MAM/Civil.

Cons:

Overrated. Yes RVCE has been overrated time and again. The CS dept. Of RVCE is said to be best in Bangalore but the story is far different from reality. Infact last year, EC department managed to get the highest package from on-campus placements. People in first year( don't know about higher semesters) are struggling in CS. But still we people hope this will change some day.

Less activity more studies. If you are thinking to enjoy your college life rather than studying, then RVCE is not your spoon. There is absolutely no relaxation from the management in terms of attendance if you are into fests and all. For ex: this year, first year students who volunteered for AT( annual college cultural fest) were not given attendance. This is so bad because 90% of volunteers were first year students who worked day and night to make it a grand success. Still there hard work goes in vain because now they have to sit for make up hours for the classes missed.

ATTENDANCE : You might think that this problem exists everywhere. But what's different here is that we have marks for attendance too. So 5 marks to those who have 95% + attendance. Below 95%, 1 mark is deducted for every 5% attendance. So even if you have 75% attendance, you end up losing 5 marks to others even before the start of the race.

Faculties: The college has okayish faculties. Well, this is the case in most of the engineering colleges in India. Though, it does have few outstanding faculties in every department. But, the faculties are little cold when it comes to student-teacher interaction. You may find at least one VIRUS in every department (So, there are a dozen of them :p)

Students: The most pivotal constituents of the college. Let’s, talk about the selection procedure of these students. One can get into the college either by

KCET (Karnataka common entrance test): Only the residence of Karnataka can take up this test. RV is definitely on the top priority for the students taking up the test. The cut off is very high for RV through this. 50% of college seats are filled up through KCET. The college fee for the students through KCET is very less ₹24k–50k per year.

EDIT : The “Marks for Attendance” system is scrapped now. But you still need 85% (or 75% and certificates to cover up).

selecting branch is personal choice. Choose branch you have interest in.  Do not go for the brand value of college or branch. However placement for CSE is more than any other branch.
