Hello aspirant!
With an 82 percentile in JEE Mains and an OBC-NCL rank of around 89,000, getting admission into NIT Durgapur will be quite difficult, especially for popular branches like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical. These branches usually close much earlier for both general and OBC-NCL categories under the home state quota.
However, you might have a slim chance in less preferred branches like Biotechnology, Metallurgical, or Mining Engineering, particularly during the CSAB special rounds. So it's still worth applying and keeping those rounds in mind. Sometimes unexpected vacancies open up.
Apart from NIT Durgapur, you should also explore other options like private engineering colleges in West Bengal that accept JEE Main scores. A few good ones include Techno India University, IEM Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology, and UEM Kolkata. They have decent infrastructure and placements, and admission is generally more flexible with ranks in this range.
If you also appeared for WBJEE, that could offer you more opportunities in state colleges.
Stay positive and keep your options open during counselling process and don't lose hope. All the best!
