Designed for mid and senior-level professionals, the programme provides participants with a holistic understanding of general management by integrating disciplines such as strategy, finance, economics, marketing, operations, leadership, technology, and innovation into a single business perspective. The curriculum enables participants to strengthen decision-making capabilities while developing the cross-functional thinking required to lead organisations in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Built around IIMA's globally recognised case method pedagogy, the programme combines interactive online learning with three on-campus modules and an industry-focused capstone project, enabling professionals to apply classroom learning to real business challenges.

The Accelerated General Management Programme at IIM Ahemdabad also brings together a diverse cohort of experienced professionals, fostering peer learning across industries and functions. Based on data from the previous cohort, the participant profile comprises 119 participants, with an average age of 34 years, 7–10 years of average work experience, and 29% women participants. Learners come from sectors including banking and financial services, technology, healthcare, consulting, manufacturing, logistics, media, consumer goods, infrastructure, automotive, aerospace, and energy, creating a rich environment for cross-industry learning and professional networking.

Speaking on the relevance of the programme, Prof. Pritha Dev and Prof. Bibek Bhattacharya, Faculty Co-chairs, Accelerated General Management Programme, IIM Ahmedabad, said: "As technology transforms the way organisations operate, the ability to think across functions, make informed managerial decisions and lead with confidence has become increasingly important. Through the Accelerated General Management Programme, we aim to help experienced professionals develop an integrated business perspective by combining rigorous academic learning with practical application. The programme's case-based pedagogy and diverse peer learning environment enable participants to strengthen their leadership capabilities while continuing to create value within their organisations."

The programme is intended for graduates with at least five years of work experience, who aspire to transition into broader business leadership roles. Beyond academic learning, participants also have the opportunity to build long-term professional networks through interactions with accomplished peers and distinguished IIMA faculty. Eligible participants who successfully complete the programme receive a Certificate of Completion from IIM Ahmedabad and may qualify for IIMA Alumni Status, subject to the programme's evaluation criteria and requirements.
