I chose to study Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Jalandhar due to its top-tier reputation and excellent placement history. The quality of teaching here is outstanding; most professors are highly qualified PhD holders who encourage practical and research-driven learning. The curriculum has been updated with specialized tracks like Artificial Intelligence, which keeps us synced with tech developments. However, you must handle high academic pressure and a strict 75% attendance rule. Hands-on labs and tech fests like Techniti make us highly job-ready. Placements are excellent, with recent average packages touching ₹9.78 LPA and a highest package reaching ₹52 LPA, ensuring stellar career opportunities.
NIT Jalandhar is an Institute of National Importance in Punjab, ranked 55th by NIRF 2025. It boasts an outstanding 91.88% placement rate. The B.Tech average package sits at ₹9.78 LPA (₹15.83 LPA for CSE), with a highest package of ₹52 LPA. It features rigorous academics, a strict 75% attendance rule, and tech fests like Techniti.
My BTech at NIT Jalandhar costs about ₹1.6 Lakhs per year. I am getting my money's worth because it offers premium national-level infrastructure, supportive faculty, and solid placements in top MNCs, making the overall investment highly profitable
Campus life at NIT Jalandhar is vibrant and worth every rupee. The year-round mega fests like Utkansh, active technical clubs, modern sports facilities, and diverse peer group provide incredible personal growth that justifies the overall expenses
Overall, NIT Jalandhar is an excellent choice for engineering aspirants looking for a balance of academics, placements, and cultural growth. The college has a highly supportive alumni network and a great competitive coding culture. The campus location is well-connected, and the pleasant Punjab winters make college life memorable
The academic blocks and labs have reliable Wi-Fi. The central library is excellent for studying. Hostel facilities are decent, and the mess food is average. First-year students get 4-sharing rooms, and from the 2nd year get 2-sharing rooms.
The faculty are highly qualified, but the speed of teaching is very slow, and there are many irrelevant subjects in the course for 1st-year students. There are some subjects related to entrepreneurship and startups as well. Exams are a bit tough here, faculties are also not too good.
In our course, we have 120 students. I am in 1st year. In our CSE branch this year, we have around 180 students, 90+ percent of students are placed. The highest package offered is 60 LPA, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Atlassian, Oracle, Amazon, Google. In our institute, internship is a must for every student in 3rd year, so all the students have to do it. The top role offered is software developer.
Infrastructure is good, placements are also good. Our college hosts many fests, some of them Utkansh and Bharat Dhavani. Every year, we have inter-NIT events in our college. I recommend this course to everybody.
Wi-Fi connection is provided to all the students, and the connectivity in the classroom and labs is decent. The quality of food is good, and the medical facility is brilliant here. Near the Bank inside the campus, so overall a decent campus life.
Overall college is good and CSE is worthy in it.
the college infrastructure is well maintained but the sports infrastructure can be improved also our campus has well spacious library and well maintained library and classrooms are also moder with reliable wifi facilities
the academic curriculum is well structured and covers both theoretical concepts and practical application. Most faculty members are knowledgeable, supportive and approachable. regular assignments and lab sessions make string foundation.
the training placement cell of our college helps alot in the placements but the thing is that the faculty is not that supportive in finding the internships and jobs for students because they have connections and could help in better way to the students
return on investment for a candidate who is paying around 11 lakhs for 4 years is more because the real median lies around 9 lakhs per annum so that is issue rest we should be offered more scholarships
the campus life is good along with security from outsiders but the campus life can be improved if more quality eating points could have been provided but that is not the case also the events should be on regular basis
overall experience is satisfactory
Infrastructure is decent. There are almost all necessary equipments available.College is neat and tidy.Hostel food is okay not very good or bad.Food depends a lot upon your hostel. Library is good although crowded during exam times(and with couples and people who are there only for watching TV) Smart boards are well maintained and wifi is good(rarely frustrates is)
As in any college some teachers are good at teaching and some not so good.Curriculum provides you a good based for GATE.You have a great peer group so, if you'll self study and try to learn some skills you'll end up with a good placement.
Placements are decent overall more than 80% get placed in college.College average is 11LPA I guess but salaries packages range from 3.5LPA to 60LPA even 1Cr but it depends on your hardwork. Many go for GATE,CAT or UPSC.It also depends a lot on your branch IT related branches and circuital branches have good placements.Core placements are decent mostly in managerial, consultant roles but if you are a good student you'll surely get placed(Note that good student also means participating in activities that improve your communication and body language)
Cost depends upon your income level and category. It has a great ROI compared to many private colleges.(For me it's approx 6 lakh including hostel in an income bracket of 1 to 5 lakh category: general) Education loan under PM vidyalaxmi will cost you less interest because of NIT Tag. For me personally it is worth it because in any private college I would have to pay 15 lakh+
Best part is clean campus and many activities.Campus is surely safe until now I haven't heard any case of ragging. To me there are no bad features but I have heard many students complain about campus being small. Depends a lot on your background as a lower middle class guy it is a great college to me. For emergencies there is ambulance and dispensary but it has mixed reviews(they didn't had tetanus vaccine and I was shocked to know and engineering college not having tetanus vaccine)
I would say if you'll work hard you'll get a good headstart in your career. If you'll just roam around campus and keep complaining, gossiping (trust me college has the spiciest gossips) and just wasting time on gaming, netflix or running around girl(trust me that's also he'll of a distraction) then it won't end very well for you I would also advise you to never share anything personal(especially girls if you know what I mean) with anyone no matter what because it ends up very bad for you.
They provide us proper secure network the network have limit of 15 GB at there network ott, games are not working this network is only for study Food quality is good in starting but slowly slowly they reduce the quality
I am sachin garg doing civil engineering in NIT Jalandhar the teaching quality of teacher is too good and infrastructure of departments is too good all rooms are fully AC finished and proper presentation
The placement statistics is good like there average package is 10.98 lpa overall and highest is 1.16cr and total student placed is 768 in btech total offers 934 they include double offer of 151 percentage is too good of all branches
The fees structure of college is too good like we pay just 7 to 9 lakh for 4 years this fee is completely good for a student and for its parents because all branches have same fee structure in these fees they include hostel and mess fee also
Good in nature, good in views in first year you have a highest hostel out time is 10 pm but in second year and onwards your hostel time is 24 hrs for boys but for girls the hostel out time is till 10 pm for 4 years
The college has good infrastructure with well-maintained classrooms, laboratories and library facilities. Wi-Fi is available in most academic areas, and the campus is clean and green. Hostel facilities are decent with proper security and basic amenities. There is still scope for improvement in recreational spaces and some hostel facilities, but overall the infrastructure supports students well.
The faculty members are knowledgeable, supportive and approachable. The curriculum provides a good foundation in the subject and includes practical learning through laboratory sessions and projects. Regular assignments and examinations help maintain consistency in studies. More industry-oriented workshops and hands-on training would make the academic experience even better.
The placement cell is active and works to bring companies from different sectors to the campus. Students receive guidance through aptitude training, mock interviews and resume-building sessions. Placement opportunities are improving every year, although students should also focus on developing their own technical and communication skills to maximize their chances of getting a good offer.
Yes my college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments , but some buildings are old , but they are building new , overall it's all good , new library , free wifi , ground all well maintained.
I am studing in btech 1st year in industrial and production engineering. Academic are overall good . Good teachers , assistent and helpers are there . But you have to study from youtube if you lag in something.
I have no idea of placement as I am in first year , as per I heard from the seniors or check the statics on the institute website , it is all going good . Some branches have even 100% placements also .
Based on area , college infrastructure is good. Well maintained departments, lecture halls, hostels, canteens. Proper greenery in college. Inside campus we have EVs for travelling. Proper bus facility for day scholars.
Academic is good . Each course is well designed and it's outcomes are genuinely applicable in your academics. Teachers are good , supportive and have well knowledge about their courses. Exams are of decent level.
Overall placement of college are good . But for our department placement ratio is high but ROI is not good as highest is 17lpa this year and average is 7.5lpa. so little bit of placement issue in our branch.
Infrastructure good and garden play grounds of all sports are included in campus hostels and temple included with all structure flowers and greens all sides of tha campus and anti ragging cell works in campus
B tech ist year in industrial engineering with production teachers are punctual lectures Monday to Friday Saturday and Sunday off in our college time table update them to time every time jobs are good in our campus.
There are many branches in our campus all the branches have good placement off campus or on campus every year 90 ++ percentage of the branches of our campus 8 9 lpa average and max 52 lakh on campus and 1.5 cr off campus .
Accoridng me .. there is very good infrastructure of college .. care of regular cleanliness is taken there ... department buildings and there infrastructure is well maintained as there are also new build
Teachers are very supportive here regarding to academics ..syllabus is relevant to course which is helpful in jobs ... attendance criteria of mandatory 75 percent is not I like very much as it creates lot of pressure in students ...
The placement of my chemical branch is very good here. As we can see there is 100 percent placement from few years in this branch .. psu also takes students directly from colleges without the marks of gate
Hi,
If your SC category rank is around 32,088 , then getting Electrical Engineering at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar is very unlikely . Recent SC closing ranks for Electrical Engineering have generally been much lower (around 6,000–7,000 category rank range).
However, don't lose hope. With
