Yes, almost everything. We just had a new amazing academic building which is huge. The new classrooms have ac and all necessary required things. we have single rooms from the second year and only two persons for the first year to live in a room. The space is mostly clean other than holidays.
I am studying metallurgy because I got it. The quality of teaching is good in most sections but sometimes teachers just go through the ppts so one needs to be active in academics too. Lastly, an active candidate is ready for job as the hectic schedule made him for it.
The main parts come here, we may not have the best infrastructure but here you can get placed if u have the slightest. chance too. In metallurgy, almost everyone gets placed but needs to study accordingly. Avg salary for meta is around 6 LPA. I haven't had the chance for placement yet but I can say it is good.
Per year around 2 lakhs and extra your pocket money depends on u.
campuss life is also good so no worries.
Few years back infrastructure was not that good but now it is improving day by day. Mega hostels and new academic building are very good. With the improvement in infrastructure the Institute education methodology is also improving with a great pace.
Mechanical engineering is one of the biggest department of NIT jamshedpur. It is the best branch of the college. All the professors are highly qualified. The peer group here is awesome and will always keep you motivated.
Placements in mechanical branch is very good. Most of the students gets placed in core companies with a decent package. Most of the core companies of india visit for campus placements. Institute being in an industrial area give more benefits to students.
It is an Institute of national importance and definitely value for money. I you are getting a seat here don't let it go.
Campus life is good. Jamshedpur is not a metro city so places to visit are quite less.
It is one of the premier Institute of India and will progress more in near future.
Hostels are good but New academic building is wow but old building is in very bad condition and new labs are built and Now it's very good infrastructure and New building awesome and play ground bus also big
Old academic building is under construction and new academic building is awesome and it's infrastructure is wow and academic works are good all staffs are helpful rare are not work but many of them are helpful
Good for Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics engineering and average for Electrical engineering and okay for mechanical or civil or metallurgical engineering as in total it's average of 6lakh

Excellent
The classrooms are clean , well lit and properly aerated. Sufficient ammount of sitting space and blackboard as well as white board is available. The computer labs are air-conditioned and equipped with sufficient no of desktops.
The teachers are dedicated. Our course is updated and includes all the recent developments in the fields. Our course definately makes us equipped with all technical and soft skills to make us an asset for the organisation coming to hire us.
College is famous for its high placements. Almost 90+ percent placement in all branches. The Metallurgy and Materials Science Engineering had a 100% placement last year. Average package of the lowest branch i.e Production and Industrial Engineering is higher than 6 lakhs per annum.
Various resources are available
The worst feature is not availablity of an auditorium but it is in construction now. Best feature are various sports ground available.
The infrastructure is good with all the facilities. The library is quite good, Wi-Fi is also available, classrooms are not luxurious but decent for education. Hostel facility is good. Two or three students in one room. Food is average, the medical facility is good. Sports events are refreshing.. The new academic building is under construction and will be ready for classes from next semester with modern classes. The facilities provided by the hostel is nice, and the quality of food served in the
The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They will clear all your doubts whenever asked. The teaching quality is also good, and the question paper is also of standard quality. The teachers keep healthy relations with students, students are free to speak and ask doubts. The course curriculum is good and does make students industry ready.
About 95% of student got placed from my branch. All of them get a decent package. The highest package was 40 Lacs per annum while the average package was 10 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, Ola, Paytm, All state, Amdocs, Yodlee, UHG and many more. SDE role is provided to most of them.
I chose this course because of its high demand. Many jobs are in the brink of end but this one is the future, so no worry. The teachers must have been more helpful. and the fee structure is very less because of government college
. The annual events, sports events are refreshing.and we enjoy a lot in these times
its awesome here, you will definitely enjoy
All the departments are well equipped. Moreover the infrastructure is been re-created , renovation is under going and soon every classroom will be smart classroom soon. As well as canteens are concerned, they are good too.
Being an Mtech student, you can't demand so much of guidance for academics, still teachers are very much concerned about it and they give their full potential to take classes and finish the syllabus. Syllabus was quite updated. And library is really good, probably the best place in campus with all new edition books.
Since , NIT Jamshedpur is one of the oldest colleges in the city, placements are really good. Almost all students of my batch got placed. The best thing is that you are going to get ample chances to prove yourself there , now its upto you , whether you can make best out of it or not.
Fee structure for masters degree is quite High.
Campus is huge enough to make you lost into the place. Its soothing and relaxing in evening time. you can really get into evening walks, cycling. There is a gym area, basketball court, badminton court as well and grounds. For sure you won't be disappointed with campus ever.
Overall college is good enough to trust your graduation or post graduation with it.
Nit jamshedpur has been criticised for decades for its infrastructure. The classrooms have not changed or renovated a bit since it's inauguration as RIT . Although I would say it never felt short of equipment or labs or apparatus the state of the buildings were poorly maintained .It has a good enough libraries and wifi . Hostels have lan ports for internet connection although it is pretty unreliable. However with the construction of new academic building things might change in the future.
I am currently pursuing BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The quality of teaching is pretty good . Proffessors that teach are mostly PhD scholars From IITs or have done good amount research in their respective fields. I can't say much about the curriculum though coz I'm in my first year only.
I think in terms of placements it is one of the best among top NITs. The placement percentage for branches CSE and ECE were above 90% . Even core branches like MME had above 80% placements this year. The highest salaries were offered by Microsoft of roughly 40 lpa to two students via PPO. Other than that companies like Tata , OnePlus ,Flipkart, Amazon also come for recruitment. The median salary for CSE was above 10 lpa and for ECE it was about 9.5 lpa.
Each semester fee for NITs is roughly around 1 lakh that means 2 lakhs for the entire year . It is less than IITs wih are more like 4 per year. Though students can apply for fee remissions or other scholarships to help them financially. I'm pretty much happy with everything.
Campus has Greenery and you can leave hostels even at night . Nit store is accessible near the old academic building and Night canteen is a life savior. You can go out with friends or play your favourite sport . Most of the sports have officiall teams . There are numerous clubs and groups to hone your skills . LDS ( Literary and debating society) , Pcon(Programming Club) , Beatbreakers( Dance) and pretty much every thing. Teachers and staff are okay. it's loacted in the outskirts of Adityapur
At first you may find it intimidating or not upto mark but sooner or later you will start to enjoy college with your friends . They will become your family and the college your home.
NIT Jamshedpur has an overall satisfactory infra. But hostels are excellent and the new academic block is under construction. So, after that it may get a rating of 4 after completion of it. And the canteens and remaining are satisfactory
As an engineering student, we need more support than to what we want than the teachers who want to teach what they want. Because of this type of faculty you will get sufficient time to follow your interest as the professors won't take that many classes in academic time.
And this is the best part of our college As they are giving sufficient time to follow the student's interest, all are scoring good packages at the time of placements. But the placements of core branches still need some improvement.
It costs almost a 2 lakhs per annum and I think it is not perfectly alright to pay that a huge amount. But, it is an above average thing to talk about. As I we get a single room and good time to follow our interest.
The atmosphere is the most dangerous thing here. As we can't guess what will happen in the next hour. Also the surroundings are not that much safe as there are no boundaries for the college and there are some security issues too.
It is partially recommend college.
College has outstanding academic , playground lack of gym and auditorium, library is very well developed .. classrooms are properly ventilated hostels life is awesome here because of infrastructure and provision of single room from second year onwards.
Teachers are well educated and some are very strict ...there is a proper lab for everything and also lab assistant are available for any urgent help .many professors are scholar from iits . There teaching skills are marvellous
As I have heard that placement are good here ..many core companies come to give placement and take them off at higher and medium package .. placement of cse ece and EE is 90% app. Highest package goes from cse .this year 2019 was 43 lac per annum by Amazon offered to two students
I was expecting that it have poor infrastructure but it was well above my expectations buildings were new.we have open air theater, sports ground for all sports and many more exciting things. We have wifi connected libraries with all necessary book available, classroom and laboratory is average but the best part is hostel, in hostel we got well spacious room and the mess food is excellent, they have proper hygienic routine, so overall our infra is well above good.
Our academic is chill. There is no load of cgp comparatively. Plus our professor are well educated so it's good in aspects of academics.seniors arrange workshops for different aspects like coding. And professors help us in clearing our doubt.
I'm in my first year and I have seen seniors being chill for their placement. This year two of our senior got placed in Microsoft @ 45 lpa Whereas avg of cse is around 15 while for all other branch it is in btw 8-11 lpa.
It cost around 1.5 lakh per year but it's well worth as many events, workshops go on for the whole year you will say by yourself that it's well worth.
The best part of our college. We have very chill college life, and the whole college have truly find a takiakalam "first year hai be, koi load nhi h" Like what it means seriously we have no load,we are very much safe in our clg, whatever you are interested in you get your senior doing well in that field and can get guide from them .We have friendly relations with senior. There are so many fest and fun events happening all over the year.So yes it's very dream life you can get in this college
Come and enjoy.
Looking to the trends of the NIT Jamshedpur ECE placement it is around 92.39% . You can learn more - https://www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-jamshedpur/placement
Hello Arjun
