Factors Determining NIRF Ranking

In 2015, the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) adopted the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The NIRF framework outlines several parameters on the basis of which rank institutions around the country are ranked in different categories. The methodology includes the MHRD's Core Committee's general suggestions for identifying main characteristics for rating universities and other institutions. Characteristics are taken into account for getting the NIRF ranking for MAHE and other institutions are listed below:

• Peer Perception (PP)

• Graduation Outcomes (GO)

• Teaching and Learning Resources (TLR)

• Outreach and Inclusivity (O & I)

• Research and Professional Practice (RP)

Manipal Academy of Higher Education is ranked 2nd in the universities category as per Careers360 methodology. Careers360 shortlists over 5000 institutions across various domains each year. Out of these institutions, only those are rated/ ranked which provide transparent data requested by Careers360. The cumulative scores of institutions are then calculated and divided into clusters as per scores. Careers360 ranks private and government institutions separately as the support system of both are completely different.

Ranking Methodology:

The institutions are ranked as per their cumulative score. The institution that has got the maximum score will be ranked first while the institution with lowest score will be ranked last.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education Admissions

Manipal University offers admission to diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The UG, PG and Diploma degrees are awarded in a variety of disciplines like medicine, engineering, pharmacy, management, dentistry, humanities, communication, life science, nursing, architecture, allied health streams and more. For admission to MAHE programs candidates must either qualify a national level entrance test like NEET-UG, NEET-PG, CAT, GMAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, etc. The final MAHE merit list of selected candidates for various UG, and PG courses is done based on the marks in the last qualifying examination, entrance test score and the personal interview. For some courses at Manipal University candidates have to appear for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) examination along with the personal interview. While some MAHE technical courses require the student to appear for the departmental test (DT) for MAHE admissions.
