What is Logistics and Supply Chain Management

What exactly is logistics and supply chain management? This course is designed to produce students who are well qualified, competent, responsible, and ethical logisticians and Supply Chain Management experts.

These students would work in the public, business, and private organisations. This course was designed to make students who are interested in logistics and supply chain management know about this course and have the latest and updated news about it.

Logistics and supply chain management course manages, plans and coordinates the forward and backward flow of services and goods from one place to another. It helps the student learn the in-depth view of the movement of goods and services in a chain format in the company. The different kinds of jobs where the student can be placed are managers, logistic coordinators, business managers, and commercial managers.

Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Every college and university have their own set of eligibility criteria set for the logistics and supply chain management course. Most of the criteria followed by them are –

For UG Admission – This subject is not for a UG course.


For PG Admission -

  • The student should be a graduate.

  • Students should have scored a minimum of 45% for their Bachelor’s degree.

  • Students should not have any backlog in any subject.

  • Students belonging to the SC/ST criteria should score a minimum of 40%.


Logistics and Supply Chain Management Entrance Exams

Entrance Exams are mostly common for all colleges across India. These exams are conducted to check upon the eligibility of the students. Some of the exams for logistics and supply chain management course are –

  • TANCET: Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Exam (TANCET) is a state-level examination that is conducted offline and mostly in the month of June. 

  • MATManagement Aptitude Test is a national-level examination that is conducted online, mostly in the months of February, May, September and December. 

  • CAT: Common Aptitude test (CAT) is a national level exam and may be conducted as a Paper Based Test (PBT), or CBT (Computer Based test), or both. It is mostly conducted in the month of November.

  • SNAP: Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national-level exam that allows admission to all the Symbiosis institutes offering management studies. It is an online exam and is mostly conducted during December.  

Scope of Logistics and Supply Chain Management in India and Abroad

This course gives an in-depth review of the logistics and supply chain management in the industry. It has several diversified modules. As the student goes in-depth about it, he/she can explore the different solutions to problems of product management, marketing, analytics, customer care, inventory management, operations and supply chain, and many others.

There are many sides to the supply chain, and logistics department, which can be explained by the faculties, and the students get a wider perspective about the industries. The student, after completing logistics and supply chain management course, can apply his/her knowledge in both national and global logistics and supply chain markets.

  • degree courses like B BA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and BBA in Logistics Management
  • diploma courses diploma in  Logistics and Supply Chain Management (https://adiinstitute.co.in/courses/logistics-and-supply-chain-management/)

obliviously degree course will be 3 years and diploma will be 6 months to 2 years according to the colleges

the degree course will provide you upper hand than a diploma in the sector but you can build your career early if you are going with the diploma
