The second list for JAM 2025 will be declared on June 8, 2025.
Infrastructure was almost Satisfied. The Classrooms, toilets, campus, Overall are Properly located with Proper paint. Classroom are all filled with proper benches and desks. There is excellent library facilities and proper Rooms are clean.
Teachers are well qualified,Most of them have master's or PhD degrees and are knowledgeable.Dome teachers are very helpful and always been to help every possible.Course curriculum is totally well designed.
Placements are good. There are a number of companies which recruit students from this college in order to give good future to their Students to their Companies, such as TCS, Accenture, Cognizant etc. The highest package is 7 LPA and the lowest package is 4 LPA. We have opportunities to sit in placement with computer science and information technology students.
Seniors are really very supportive
Facilities are not that good. The classroom is good. The library is old. The hostel facilities are not good. Food is okay. There are 3-4 canteens. Medical facilities are also good. Sports and games are also good. Infrastructure is not good. Almost every building is very old.
Teachers are not helpful. Almost every professor is a Ph.D. holder. Teaching quality is good. The curriculum is not relevant. No, these don't make you industry-ready. Semester exams are easy in some semesters and tough in others. You can secure 8.5 cgpa easily in easy sem.
My branch is mechanical engineering and the total strength of our class is 114. Last year, placement in mechanical engineering was 98%; the highest package offered was 32 LPA; the lowest package offered was 6 LPA; and the average of mechanical engineering is 11 LPA.
faculty should be improved
The facilities in our college are very good and classrooms are fully AC with wifi services. Hostel services are also very good and the quality of our hostels are also very good, the food served here is very good . Hostel rooms are very clean and water purifiers are also available there for all students. Sports facilities are also provided here for everyone.
Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable and they are very helpful towards every students. The course is relevant for students and made us industry ready. The semester exams are not too easy but mostly 95% of students usually gets pass in the exams. The labs workshops are well structured.
In our college good placements opportunities are provided for all students. Around 90% of students gets placement from here , various companies comes here in the campus for placement drives like TATA Steel, TCS etc and college is also supportive and helpful during placements for students and guides in a very good way.
Overall poor infrastructure. Even if some buildings are good they are not well maintained. Cleanliness is the major issue. Hostels are worst place to live. Entry of dogs is common and they will poop here and there inside the hostels and it will not get cleaned untill you pressurise the hostel committee. Most major issue is of drinking water, majority of students are having problems due to this. Grey hair, Hair Loss, hair thinning is the most common problem faced by the students.
Academics is very strict and you need to have valid reasons even if your attendance is 75%. In very extreme circumstances your attendence is compensated and that too upto 65%. So if you are here you need to attend classes and study well.
Placements are good but the point is you can get them in other NITs as well and even if better level. It's industrial area so most of the core companies visit us. Apart from core opportunities are good in non core as well.
Totally Screwed. If you want to screw up your college life then only select this college. Apart from placements nothing is good.
Campus is huge and large part of it is still unutilized. It's offcourse lush green. Clubs , societies, technical teams and fests are keeping it alive otherwise there is nothing like campus life here. The campus is open and every person is somehow allowed inside the campus.
You have got one chance for choice filling choose it wisely.
NIT Jamshedpur has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities for the overall development of its students. Laboratories are well- equipped with modern lab apparatus and technologies. Top notch sports facilities .
I had pursued B.Tech in Metallurgical and material engineering . Faculties are the experts of their respective domain.Curriculum has been thought fully drafted to meet the industrial demand and makes its students job ready
NIT jamshedpur has record of one of the best placements among other NITs and equivalent colleges. Almost 100% students get placed except few who dont opt for campus placement . CSE has the best placement offers among other branches.
Fees is Around 2 lac per year for a general student without any fee waiver. ROI of NIT jsr is good.
College has a plethora of events and hangout places to keep you engaged with.
The college infrastructure is really mesmerizing. Everything is built very beautifully. There are a lot of advanced equipment and really well maintained in every way. The only one disadvantage can be that it is situated in outer areas.
I graduated from mechanical engineering. The quality of teaching is very professional including all the practical concepts along with theory concepts. It can make us job ready but most of the people want to go in tech.
Placements are awesome because everyone almost everyone gets placements unless you are the lowest on the food chain. The average salary can be 8 lpa. The college supports us very much in terms of placements.
A good college infrastructure is essential for creating an environment conducive to learning and personal growth . includes buildings , classrooms , laboratories , libraries , sporting facilities , dormitories , and more .
Our college teachers have doctorates and have done Ph.D., at good institutions . They have very good knowledge in all aspects . Students interested in their personal field areas are encouraged . The academic standards here make the students job ready for the trending industries .
100% guarantee was given to the parents that their child will be placed in a good company with good package and that to before the graduation as our institute ties up with the high standard companies mainatains a good bonding with them .
Students here will get scholarship which is very beneficial.
I enjoyed a lot here .
Best university ever
Currently I am pursuing bachlor of technology in NIT JAMSHEDPUR, till now I have seen many good infrastructure facilities here and I wish that this remain in the future for us . The classrooms are well organised and the smart boards are also there in the class room for the betterment of the students to get them the knowledge in the best way .
Currently I am studying the 1st year common syllabus of all the branches but my own ECM (engineering and computational mechanics) branch consists of very good course structures , it includes data structures, machine learning , artificial intelligence , etc.
Among 32 NITs and 24 IITs all over India , NIT JSR stands over many top NIT and IIT in terms of placements which is one of the important and crucial role for the selection of college. The average package offered here is about 23 lpa in CSE and about 11 lpa in mechanical .
It is truly said that ' For betterment we need not have to see money' NITs and IITs are the best examples of it , NIT JSR worth this statement. It costs about 2,30,000 per year but several kind of remission and scholarships also present here.
The overall campus Life of my college is beautiful and chill ....after fa ing so much depressions in the season of JEE, I feel much good in the college , as the 1st year is called the exploring year so we need not have to worry much about studies. The teachers and the non teaching staffs are also very cooperative .
The overall experience of mine in JSR is much more than what I had expected in the councelling of JOSAA . But the main point is that ' College does not define all the things in life , but the way of living in college , the way of enjoying the moments , etc ' makes one more gratitude to live a happy and prosperous college life .
The infrastructure of my college is quiet good.It is well equipped with 350 acres of land.It consists of an academic building fully furnished with smart classrooms and each classroom has LAN facilities. The campus consists of 13 hostels i.e. the best part in campus. All the students get single room from 2nd year.Mess provides quality food 4 times in a day.The areas in which the college needs improvement is the lab facilities and maintenance. The cleanliness of hostels and are not regularly checked.
Currently I'm in 2nd year of Electrical Engineering.Teaching facilities are improving by recruitment of new teachers. But recruitment process needs improvement,as some of the teacher's communication skills is way too bad.In some department, teachers are just focussed on completion of syllabus.improvement.Overall if you have to study 6 subjects in your semester, you will get 3-4 good teachers and 2-3 bad teachers.
If you are coming to this college only for placement, this is one of the best option to watch out for.The placement percentage of my college stands at 97% this year with an average CTC of 14.2 lakh. The core department also gets a decent placement, along with non core department.A lot of companies comes for campus placement. It has a great Training and placement cell which ensures that everyone get the placement.
The fees of this college is slightly on the higher side. For 1 semester we have to pay 108000.There are provisions for fee remission. For income less than 1 lakh per annum, students get full tution fee remission and for income between 1-5 lakh per annum, they will get 2/3rd remission of tution fee.Overall for hostel fee,it is worth the money, but for academics,it is not the case.
The campus area is of 350 acres. The good things about campus is the academic building, hostels and the mega mess.It also consists of Gymkhana, one big playground, basketball court. The bad things are transportation facilities. There are no autos in or near the campus. There is only one NIT bus going in the evening only. Also the research scenario is not so good.
Overall,if you are coming here for placement only, then you are at a better place. There is a lack of research facilities here. Also there is a lack of diversity among peoples. Most of the people are from Bihar and Jharkhand.
Very good college infrastructure, new building, good hostels, great mess facility, very good playing space, well equipped labs with modern machines, great auditorium type classroom with projector and digital podium.
The professors are very helpful and knowledgeable in their respective subjects. They are always approachable in their free time and they clear doubts via call as well. The curriculum of the course is very good and provides in depth knowledge to all our questions.
The placement scenario is very great in our college. Last year 97% students got placed in mechanical branch and the median salary was around 8.5 LPA. The highest salary was offered toba student of Computer Science Branch and was 43 LPA.

For the future of India, NIT Jamshedpur's Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program is likely a better choice than NIT Patna's Civil Engineering program, especially considering India's growing manufacturing and materials science sectors. NIT Jamshedpur offers a strong program with strong industry ties, particularly with Tata Steel, and a history of excellent placements.
NIT Jamshedpur's Advantages:
Strong Industry Connections:
NIT Jamshedpur has strong ties with Tata Steel, a major player in the steel industry, offering numerous opportunities for internships, placements, and research.
Focus on Emerging Materials:
The Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program at NIT Jamshedpur is well-suited for the growing demand for advanced materials in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and electronics.
High Placement Rate:
NIT Jamshedpur generally boasts a high placement rate, particularly for core engineering branches like Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, with many students securing jobs in the steel industry and related sectors.
NIT Patna's Advantages:
Civil Engineering Demand:
Civil Engineering remains a vital field in India, especially with ongoing infrastructure development projects.
Established Institution:
NIT Patna is a well-established institution with a long history in engineering education.
Overall:
While both programs are valuable, NIT Jamshedpur's Materials and Metallurgical Engineering program aligns better with India's future industrial landscape, especially with the emphasis on advanced materials and the strong industry connections it offers. The program at NIT Jamshedpur also has a higher placement rate compared to NIT Patna's civil engineering program.
With an ST rank of 25,678 in JEE Mains 2025, you have a possibility of getting into some NITs, but the chances for the top NITs, especially for core branches like Computer Science, will be quite competitive. The actual cutoffs vary each year depending on the number of applicants, their performance, and the seat matrix.
Considering your ST rank and the home state quota for NIT Jamshedpur , your chances of securing a seat are better compared to the other state quota. Based on the previous year's cutoff trends, for the ST category under the home state quota at NIT Jamshedpur, the closing ranks for some branches have gone up to the 40,000s and even higher for less popular branches. Therefore, with a rank of 25,678, you might have a good chance of getting into branches like Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or even Mechanical Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur under the ST home state quota. However, for the more sought-after branches like Computer Science or Electronics and Communication Engineering, the closing ranks for the ST home state quota are typically much lower, so the chances might be slim.
Regarding your CRL rank of 9,33,546, it is very unlikely that you will get any NIT through CSAB counselling. CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) conducts special rounds of counselling to fill the vacant seats after the regular JoSAA rounds. The ranks for admission through CSAB usually remain within a few lakhs for the general categories, and for reserved categories, they might go slightly higher, but not as high as 9 lakhs. With a CRL rank of 9,33,546, your rank is considerably outside the typical range for admissions into NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) through CSAB.
In summary, while your ST rank of 25,678 gives you a reasonable chance of getting into NIT Jamshedpur under the ST and home state quota for some branches, your CRL rank of 9,33,546 makes it improbable to secure a seat in any NIT through CSAB counselling. It would be advisable to focus on the JoSAA counselling based on your ST category rank and explore the options available to you in NIT Jamshedpur and possibly other NITs that accept a higher ST rank for certain branches.
I hope this helps.
