Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Audiology and Speech
Candidates pursuing audiology and speech can go for undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs, diploma courses, and certificate courses. In order to get admission into these courses, the candidates need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria-
For undergraduate courses:
- Candidates who want to pursue any UG courses in audiology and speech must have completed 10+2 level or equivalent level of examination from a recognised board in India.
- The stream in a higher secondary level should be science, preferably physics, chemistry and biology.
- The minimum marks requirement in +2 level is 50% to 45% for the General category and 45 per cent to 40 per cent for SC/ST category.
- In addition to 10+2 level marks, some colleges conduct entrance exams as well. The final admission to this course is then made on the basis of both marks.
For postgraduate courses:
- Candidates who want to pursue any PG courses in audiology and speech must have completed their undergraduate program in the related discipline.
- A minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks is required in the related undergraduate program, and a relaxation of around 5 percent is offered to SC/ST category.
- Candidates may also have to pass the entrance exams conducted by different colleges. On the basis of both scores, the candidates may be admitted to PG courses.
For diploma courses:
- Candidates who want to pursue a diploma course on audiology and speech must have passed the 10+2 level or equivalent level of examination from any recognised board of India.
- The stream in the higher secondary level must be science, preferably Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum mark required in the 10+2 level is 50 percent. Relaxation of about 5 percent is offered to students belonging to SC/ST category.
For Ph.D. courses:
- Candidates who want to pursue Ph.D. courses in audiology and speech must have passed their postgraduate course in a related discipline with a minimum of 55 percent of aggregate marks.
- Candidates should also pass entrance exams conducted by different colleges.

Most colleges conduct entrance exams to evaluate candidates, and they have set minimum marks that any candidate requires in their 10+2 level examination in order to appear for the entrance exams. This BASLP course is of 4 years course and the course fee is 20000 to 4 lacs..
