Merit Based Scholarships
UPES scholarship will be offered to students who obtain an aggregate of 80% marks in class 10th & 12th and 80% marks in PCM for B.Tech (all streams) in CBSE/ ICSE / State Examination Board. Such scholarships will be limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech program. Scholarships will be allotted for the first semester in merit order to eligible candidates.
Scholarships will be awarded based on merit only.
Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent years will be strictly on the basis of university policy scholarship amount 50% on tuition fee of first Semester.
Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers
The seats under this category will be within 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students. To avail scholarship under this category, candidates should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate). Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category).

Master of Technology (M.Tech)
GATE Scholarship
Under this category, scholarship of Rs. 12,400 per month will be provided to students who meet all the eligibility criteria laid down by the authorities.
Research Grant
All Students will also be eligible to avail a grant up to a sum of Rs. 50,000 towards outcome-based research as per rules & regulations framed for the purpose by the University.
Eligibility Criteria for GATE Scholarship
Students admitted to M. Tech programs should have obtained a GATE score 70 percentile and above.
For continuation of scholarship in subsequent years, should secure a minimum SGPA / CGPA of 8.0 in each semester.
Also, students should have passed every semester examination in the first attempt besides maintaining regular attendance, discipline, exemplary behavior and compliance with all other norms as prescribed by the university from time to time.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Merit Based Scholarship
50% tuition fee waiver on 10% seats of each programs in the first semester for CBSE, ICSE & State Board pass out students. To be eligible to avail this scholarship, candidates must have obtained 75% marks in class 10th and 12th.
Uttarakhand State Board Toppers Scholarships
Seats under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Domicile students. To avail scholarship at UPES under this category, candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:
Students should have scores a minimum 80% aggregate in Class 10th & 12th in UK State Board
150 toppers from UK State Board
Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate)

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies offers a 20% scholarship for girl Students for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the university.
