In the semester results, students are evaluated on the basis of their internal assignments, mid semester exams and end semester UPES exams. GPA, Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of students are calculated on the basis of grades obtained by them. For both UG and PG UPES courses, minimum grade for qualifying semester exam is C.

Students who could not secure the required grades or wish to improve their grades can also appear in supplementary exams conducted by UPES. Criteria for giving supplementary / improvement exams are -
If students wish to improve their grades
If students have failed to secure minimum passing grades / marks
If students have missed the end semester exams
If students were debarred from giving exam due to low attendance
Note that, students securing grades below A will only be allowed to give UPES supplementary exams and the best of grades will be retained after supplementary exams.
